Highlands' Non District Schedule 2015-2016

Featured Replies

The Bluebirds also completed their non-district contracts for 2015 and 2016. Highlands will face seven Class 6A opponents in non-district action. The Bluebirds will take on Cooper, Campbell County, Scott County, Ryle, Louisville St. Xavier, Simon Kenton and Boone County.

Highlands has not played Simon Kenton since 1998. This will also mark the first-ever meeting against Cooper.

“These guys know each other,” Weinrich said. “We’re a Northern Kentucky team. We’re excited about playing a Northern Kentucky schedule and getting a feel for each other. It’s going to make us feel more a part of Northern Kentucky.”

Is this the HHS schedule NKY fans have been waiting for, or a case of "be careful what you wish for"?

As a HHS alum, parent, and fan, I liked the schedules of past when Dale would expand throughout the state and outside the state. Whether by choice or necessity, I always liked the road trips. Some people will absolutely love this schedule as in some vocal BGP'ers and I know of a few that will say Highlands is ducking said "superior" opponents. The schedule looks very competitive to me because those are all quality opponents. Add in district games and it's a strong schedule.

It's a win win for BGP. ukfan#1 will say it's about time because the frosh shutout the Birds last year, lol, and Cardinalsfan will say "schedule somebody". It's coming for sure.

HHS is kind of in a catch 22 in terms of public opinion and you verbalized it very well. Some are going to criticize no matter what route you take.

Dale must have been ducking the Pioneers? I am just kidding. I'm very happy they finally get to play.

Looks like I'm re-upping my BGP subscription for another 2 years, wouldn't miss this for the world.

Going to miss Elder, really enjoyed those games but picking Scott Co back up and adding St X and the local 6A schools will be fun. Once my son graduated I didn't make many of the long trips but will probably see just about all the games in 15 & 16.

Highlands will be resting their starters against SK, saving them for the challenging teams like Campbell Co, Ryle and Cooper.

3 teams that SK can crush. So your saying Highlands has no chance and rest their starters.
