Carmelo to the Heat?

Featured Replies

Looking at this series, who would Mello be D-ing up on the Spurs? How much difference could/would he make to this series or are the Spurs just firing on all cylinders and there is nothing to be done to stop them.

I'd rather see Eric Bledsole to the Heat than Melo, I just think he'd be a better fit and could play one or two and bring some fresh legs to the team.

I like it.

They are also in major need of a big.

I looked at four mock drafts and all have the heat taking a 6'5'' to 6'6'' player...Jordan Adams, K.J. McDaniels, Jarnell Stokes ...not sure any of them are what the Heat need...especially Stokes a 6'6'' power player!

Agreed. Id think about taking a flyer on someone like McGary or try to sneak in and land Adrien Payne.

The Heat never draft their needs. Don't know why but they don't.

They never draft anyone who can help period. Cole is the only one I can think of.

I'd argue that he even helps. Well, he's better than Chalmers. :lol2:

DWade is opting out of his contract with the Heat. 2 years remaining.

Will sign a 4 year contract at a lower per year figure to help with the cap.

I'm kinda shocked that he did this...good move for the team though. If Bosh opts out they could get a couple of nice pieces without killing their cap room.

Now will he accept the role of Ginobli coming off the bench?

If Melo takes a max deal with the NYK he will lay $15M in state and local income tax over 5 years.

Correction. $16.4M.

Would be similar if he went to Cali too I think, as far as tax implications.

I always wonder why more Free Agents don't go to Florida or Texas...giving a lot of coin away that they could be keeping.
