Well I just texted him and he said he hasn't done any trimming. It's still wide open.

I finally got to see this young man play this past weekend at the Adidas Invitational. Very impressive! He is a dominant force on both ends of the court... he is strong inside... can pass... can shoot threes... can lead the break... block shots... oh my! Here are some highlights I threw together for those on here who have not had the chance to see this super talented player in action:

6 points in a tournament ending loss to Indy Elite. Consistency is still a concern. X was 3 deep for the game...

@HoosiersLive

Ray Spalding had a tough morning. Bottom line, his teammates aren't very good at figuring out he's much better than them. Get him the ball!

I wasn't at the game.. But is is much more than getting one person the ball... The Elite team was shooting the lights out... Sometimes you just lose. Plus this team of players is much better than people want to believe...

He got up 8 shots. 3-8 from the floor isn't a good day at the office any way you try to spin it...

Not saying it is. You pointed out he only had 8 points, I'm simply saying when he had 36 points he had 20 shots.

Part of being consistent is producing when you don't get a bunch of shots. He had at least two games in single digits this week. That's where my evaluation stands. No doubt he has the talent for big games, but the ability to get 15 every time out isn't there yet...

Understandable. You saying he wasn't a top 75 talent if I recall correctly was my problem though.

I said I have him more in the 75-150 range due to a lack of consistency. His motor runs hot and cold right now, and that is something guys have a hard time correcting at that age. I like the kid and his game, but he has work to do in an area that isn't easy to correct. That is my professional evaluation...

I can name quite a few college stars, as well as NBA stars that have this "issue."

The fact is, there are not many 6'10 high school players with this kind of athleticism and skill.

The other fact is you cannot show me that many players (high school, college or NBA) who demonstrate what you are talking about.
