I think the point is it is a lot more convoluted than just simply saying "due to his health she had permission to record (any) private conversation, therefore he is out." Sterling didn't become a billionaire for being an idiot and money can buy you a lot of time and cache. The biggest problem he has in this case is that the entity he is going up against - meaning the NBA - has just as deep pockets. This will be drug out for a while.
May 28, 201412 yr I'm still confused as to how he has any right to stop the NBA from making him give up ownership of his team. If there is a law that can stop that then IMO nothing in this nation is safe. Owning a team is not a right. It is a privilege.

On the flip side the NBA has also been pigeonholed in to taking a strong stance with a lot of external pressure. Not the same circumstance, but I think about the NFL trying to exercise their legal muscle over some of the Saints players during the bounty scandal. That flew right back in their face.

That's another thing people are confusing....The NBA is not a court of law. How the recorded conversation was obtained or made public is completely irrelevant. It's a private organization (club), that has set bylaws that every member agrees to before they join.
