There is a reason the managers getting paid and we're not. If it was just Price then I'd agree, but almost every manager does this.

Then almost every manager is a sheep. Might as well bring back Dusty. I think good managers would judge where they are and what they need. The Reds needed to get a win and take a home series badly and Price did not manage accordingly. Bad decision. plain and simple.

Because as a manager that wants to promote winning a division and winning a series, I would want all of my front line players to want to be in the line up, fighting and clawing for a win. I would not settle to include 3 or 4 players that probably should not be on a big league roster to try and win a much needed game. (Berdadina, Barnhardt, Heisey, Santiago) I would bet that if you asked Shumaker, Pena, Ludwick, or any other player that is worth a crap, they would have begged to be in there to try and win the series. Most managers and fans, including you take the conservative middle ground. Winners often take the road less traveled, C'mon Loogy- you seam like a good fan but you have to expect more to get more.

Do you honestly believe asking guys to play both games of a DH is going for it all? Heck they were off Monday, played Tuesday, and were off Wednesday. They are pampered way too much.

First - I was basing my response on who is healthy now, not a hypothetical. Second, again, I want to promote a toughness and desire to win, thus play my best players in a very needed game. You never can say that a different line up would have made the difference in 4 to 5 runs but you cannot also say that it would not make that difference. I do realize that the schedule is long but you have to realize that every game is important and that you need to seize opportunities when they are available. I think Price is a good manager but has not been given the best opportunity with the current roster and they have had injuries but you have to put your best foot forward. Too much fear of being different usually lands managers in the unemployment line. Sheep usually follow each other off the cliff. Loogy - stop before you fall off.

Agree 100% - Do you think Pete Rose, Joe Morgan, Tony Perez, etc, given that they could lose a much needed series to the Padres at home, would have sat out and let Doug Flynn decide their fate?
