May 5, 201412 yr Time to see what Lutz can do for a month. He's hitting .385 with 5 HR and 15 RBI at AA.
May 5, 201412 yr So, who do they fill the roster spot with (not necessarily the starting spot? Do/can they bring back Bernadina? Or do they go to the minors (Lutz?) Lutz is tearing it up in the minors, I say you leave him there so he plays everyday. If the guys on the roster can not do what they need to do in 2 weeks, then bring lutz up and let him play everyday.
May 5, 201412 yr So much for me hoping Skip would be able to replace BP in the lineup soon and he be shipped out to parts unknown. BP had a very good last couple of days.
May 5, 201412 yr BP had a very good last couple of days. BP gets to be "that dude" now that Bruce is out, just what he wants.
May 5, 201412 yr I understand some people dislike BP, but do you really think he wants others to miss time so he can be the focal point if the lineup? C'mon now.

May 5, 201412 yr I always thought a meniscus surgery would put you out about 6-8 weeks. I know professional athletes can usually get through the rehab quicker, but that would be my guess on the actually time line.

I know professional athletes can usually get through the rehab quicker, but that would be my guess on the actually time line. It's my understanding that there are two meniscus surgeries: one actually repairs the meniscus & requires a longer recovery time. The other surgery removes the meniscus and allows for a quicker return (but increased likelihood of future complications, i.e. arthritis). For Bruce, it appears to be a partial meniscus tear. I'm assuming he'll undergo the partial meniscectomy & the 3-4 week timeframe seems pretty reasonable.
May 5, 201412 yr Off topic, but I really wish the Reds would've pursued Michael Morse in the offseason. He is a big, right handed bat and would fit well in the middle of this lineup.
May 5, 201412 yr Isn't he hurt too? Heard today hes having hammy issues. What is it with legs on this team.
