Jon Pickup, like all the other professional coaches, coaches for money so no...........this is not the perfect job for him. High school coaches tend to do it for the love of the game and not to pay their bills. My guess is there is not a lot of money attached to this job and the time commitment is as high or higher than a club team.

As far as the NDA soccer program, not to take anything away from Coach McSorley, but NDA has had an excellent group of players come through and they are primary reason behind the programs success.

 

True the talent will always be good with the feeder system and 600 girls.... but there is Region good, State Contender good, and State Champ good. Those steps are big ones and ND has passed those steps quite well under Coach McSorley.

Let us all remember that this is Catholic school pay. Be tough for someone to leave public school and take a big pay cut. For that reason alone I don't see Dixie AD wanting it. AD job doesn't pay much. Soccer pay, pretty much makes it a volunteer job. Not to mention the parents and the pressure

 

I hope NDA hires a strong woman for AD and soccer, but I also

hoped that for any/all the recent hires- softball, basketball and volleyball- didn't happen.

I'm not sure what the AD pay there is, but I know several private schools where the AD is making 80,000+ & all they do is the AD work, no teaching, nothing. I would think that the AD job @ NDA would pay significantly honestly.

There is no such thing in the Diocese of Covington, or at Notre Dame Academy.

You would "honestly" be appalled. Base pay of basically a barely livable wage and fundraiser if you want to make more. The school budgets $0 to fund athletics at NDA, outside of the base pay. It is all funded thru the golf outing, fruit sale and private donations. No tuition money goes to athletics.

Yeah, from what I've heard, public schools, especially Kenton County School District coaches, get paid very well! That's the way to go if getting paid is important!?
