Bearcat Classic 4/11-13

Recommended Posts

The Bulldogs also have to play Sunday morning, which is fine. But, I think a Friday night game is more primetime. As we discussed already, a tricky weekend for a basketball tournament.... prom, spring break, and all-star tryouts.

It's good that the tournament can work around schedules.

Look forward to seeing all teams play this weekend.

U17 Shining Star Sports (coached by Price) won their first pool play game Friday night against the Cincinnati Lakers. Bo Schuh (CovCath) led the team with 12 points and Liam Rabe (Dixie) scored 8.

I got to see a little bit of Ohio Elite's game afterwards and they look really good. Lots of size and talent... Avery from Holmes is on that team.

Ennam, hoe did Avery look for Ohio Elite? Had family in town this weekend so couldn't make it over.

Thanks for the updates on Bo and Liam.

He looked great in warmups :)

I didn't stick around long enough to see him play as he did not start. Their team and SMAC have to be two of the better teams at the 17U level.

Shining Star 17U took care of business going 3-0 in pool play and won the last two without the services of Bo Schuh... who decided to take a pretty girl to a prom instead of hanging out with a bunch of sweaty guys... go figure!

The KY Bulls 11U went undefeated in pool play as well, by winning a close one against a very good Ohio Phenoms team on a last second 3-point shot by yet another McClendon :)

Shining Star (Price) just beat Ohio Cougers in the semi-finals to advance to the championship game. The Cougers had Jalen Avery (transfer from HC) and the King kid from Clark County (GRC). Rabe and Schuh had solid games.

Championship at 5:45 against Hoop Dreams.

Good to hear the NKY boys are playing well. That team is tough. Strong, fundamental, good shooters.

Shining Star wins 17U championship against Hoop Dreams 72-66. They played without Bo Schuh because he had his CovCath banquet tonight. Shing Star was up 17 in the second half at one point, but Hoop Dreams made a helluva comeback to cut it to 3.
