How did the SEC get hosed?

UK and TN seeding and TN had to play a play in game to boot. UKs seeding mostly.

There were a ton of seedings that left me scratching my head, however it really is meaningless. Just beat the guy lining up across from you. Then move on and do it again. Seeds are pretty irrelevant. It always works itself out.

Dickie V doesn't hate Ky. He actually likes them a lot, he just likes Duke and UNC more.

That's the same thing!!

Good point, if you are going to win the whole thing, you eventually have to beat some very high seeds anyway.

That isn't the SEC getting hosed. If you want to make the argument that UK got hosed then fine. But has nothing to do with conference.

It's more of a seeding issue I have, but when you look at other conferences and the teams they allowed in then the SEC should of gotten more teams in. I don't think they deserved it but also don't think other conferences especially the ACC deserved to get all their teams in. that is my point.

Ok, compared to other conferences that have the majority of their teams sitting home now after being knocked out then the SEC got hosed seeing how they still have all their teams in. So maybe a Georgia and Arkansas and SC should of also been selected.

The three good teams from the SEC made the dance. The rest are at home. Georgia, Arkansas and South Carolina are right where they need to be.

They are the same place that other teams such as Pitt and NC State should of been also.

I agree. Arkansas, Georgia, LSU, etc. all got exactly what they earned based on the season they had. Are they better teams than some of the teams that made the tournament? Maybe so, but making the dance is a reward for a successful season. None of those teams had a season that warranted inclusion in the field.

Which is why I ask why other teams made the dance?

SEC was down this year. 3 teams deserving got in. That doesn't excuse the committee for allowing other bad teams in equally bad conferences from getting in.

You can't give some conferences the benefit of the doubt and not others.

Said before the tournament even started the ACC had too many teams in that weren't deserving and yet I was told by some I was crazy.

This entire basketball season didn't have great teams, they were all pretty much any given day type of teams including Withcita State. Florida is the best team ending the season yet they at times have struggled in some of their wins also.

Having that much parody in college basketball does not mean some conferences should or even deserve to have double the number of teams in compared to some other conferences when none of the teams really stood out.

It is fitting though the two teams that most people had serious issues with how they were seeded were not only put in the overall toughest region, but now they play against each other in a sweet 16 battle. That is pretty satsifying in itself and a slap in the face to the committee.

^Because Pitt and NCState had better overall resumes than the likes of Georgia, LSU, or Arkansas.

Both also proved they belonged by dominating their 1st round games.

Dominating in play in games?

ok

lol

their resume was not all that, sorry. They played in a bad conference.

Let's just look at Georgia and NC State

NC State 19-12 record 9-9 in conference

Georgia 19-13 record and 12-6 in conference

Georgia looks better to me.

LSU basically had the same record in and out of conference that NC State had

Arkansas also had a better overall record than NC State and same in confernce record as NC State

So I'm not sold on those school not having as good of a resume as NC State, actually I think they were better. Shoot, even Missouri had better record than NC State. Even Clemson was better in the ACC than NC State lol

Their resumes were certainly better than South Carolina's... come on, man. You're really stretching to suggest that South Carolina or Arkansas should have made the tournament over Pittsburgh. NC State was probably the LAST team to make the field, so that's OK, but it's a pretty fine line.

Surely nobody is suggesting South Carolina should have made the tournament. Heck they weren't good enough to warrant an invite to any tournament.
