Clark Co had that game won but had a breakdown in the final 2 minutes of the game with a couple of bad shots, a turnovers and fouling a three point shot. They played good defense and had great hustle and coach had an excellent game plan but a few mental errors caused them to come away 3 points short. Good game to watch.

 

Pretty much sums it up. First time I'd seen them all year - they are tenacious on defense and have some really nice pieces, but evidently had a tough time finishing teams off.

We have had trouble all year playing 4 quarters. Our PG is Damion King. He is a special player. This only makes Jones 2nd year of playing b-ball and is a Freshman, and still growing. Yes he has a lot of potential.

The Cardinals (9-20) led 42-35 with 3:08 remaining and were clinging to a 50-49 advantage with 37 seconds remaining but couldn’t hold on in the closing seconds. Harrison County’s D.J. Jenkins scored on a driving layup in the closing seconds and sank two free throws with 10 ticks remaining to seal the win.

 

Damion King’s 3-pointer from the right corner bounced off the back of the iron and Harrison County rebounded the ball at the buzzer.

 

“It’s kind of a little bit of deja vu with some of our games lately,” Clark coach Scott Humphrey said. “The kids played excellent and really took Harrison County out of everything they wanted to do. We had them right where we wanted, and had the tempo where we wanted. Everything was going our way, and the last couple of minutes, it comes down to running time (down) and in doing that, you’ve got to have confidence, wanting the ball and really going after it. We just struggled to really find that piece this year.”

 

 

“We only won nine games but this sure didn’t feel like a nine-win team,” Humphrey said. “It wasn’t a team that was looking for the season to end. They worked hard each and every day, giving us everything that we wanted and everything we asked for on the court. They carrier themselves extremely unselfishly and just continued to grind every day. It was a joy to be their coach.”
