Holmes beat Highands at Highlands 63-52 during the regular season.

Listerman inspires Highlands to one of their grittier performances of the year. Solid game plan, the kids are fired up, and they keep it close for the first quarter and a half. Then, with 2:30 to go in the half, Holmes goes on a run to stretch it out to 12. Second half resumes and adjustments are made, Highlands stays a little closer, but never really get in it. Midway through the 3rd, Holmes starts to pull away behind Beetle and Chames, going on to win by 24.

 

How's that for a super specific prediction?

Holmes put this away early. Too much firepower and with the way they took care of CCH to win the district I see them realizing that if they play solid defense and RUN RUN RUN and utilize the bigs 1 out of every 4 trips down the court they are very very tough to beat.

Holmes 60-38. Highlands is just not talented enough to hang with this Holmes team when it matters.

 

N.Ky (9th region wise) has three very good teams, one a cut below (Dixie) and the rest are also-rans. Sure there has been a close game here and there but not tonight.

That said, Highlands deserves a lot of credit for overcoming a horrific start to this season to end up playing in the Regional Tourney. They were in the right district this year to have a shot, and handled their business against Newport, which they deserve credit for! Hope their kids are able to enjoy the experience tonight in spite of the expected outcome.

A very tall order for the Bird's to try and get a victory against the Dawgs, but thats why they always say, "any given night." This isn't a best of 7 series. If Highlands gets down by 20 though they can always chant "let play football".
