No more disrespectful than having school on Veteran's Day, IMO, and if it means a day closer to getting out for summer vacation, I seen nothing but pure positiveness out of it.

Making kids sit in school doing absolutely nothing but watch movies and playing kickball so the school can satisfy a certain number of days is retarded. Really, this extra week or two, will they be taught anything? I'd be curious what actually goes on.

whatever happen to the year round school calendar? I'm shocked that Kenton Co. didn't take away spring break due to the snow days. I was told it was because so many people pay in advance for trips that attendance would be way down......doesn't make much sense to me. I must be getting too old..

Kids now days dont even know what Memorial Day is about, all they now is what their parents tell them and half of them dont know either or care. It isnt like most kids or even adults are going to visit the cemetery or anything. Just use it as a day off to sleep late. Memorial Day should be everyday if you really actually care. Kids dont care anymore as most adults dont either. Some parents are just a bunch of uniformed idiots that are bad examples to their own kids.

After state testing late in the year not much happens at school anymore, most are in coast mode.
