How many traffic accidents occurred last night involving fans going to or from the games last night?

 

Depending on what time you arrived/where you were coming from, the roads were fine early.

 

After the NewCath/Holmes game NKU/BOKC did a very nice job clearing snow (as best they could) and although 471 was snow covered I was able to go 40 MPH the whole way home (and I didn't go into 4 wheel drive). Daddy's Little Girl drives a VW "bug" and had no problems going out to eat and back home later in the evening.

 

I didn't see a single accident/car on the side of the road, granted I just went straight down 471 to the Bellevue exit.

 

Maybe it's just me, and because I drive everyday for a living, that the snow last night was zero problem. However, was it really that bad???????

Lots of cars on the road, two cars in the median and those were by the airport but nothing serious.

It all depends on where you live, LB. We are in southern Campbell County on a country road 4 miles up from the high school. Our roads were very bad. We did not risk having our girl drive home from work at 11:30 from the Wilder movie theater and she didn't argue about us coming to get her either! One bad turn and you drop off the road, down a hill and slide into the cows!

It was as bad as I have seen the roads. I had to reroute myself on my way to knotty pine. Back roads were undriveable and main roads were a mess. I headed to Sis's afterwards and roads still covered.

I also offered to pick up my son, and he decided to stay at a friends house. They were drivable but nasty.

LB if you have 4 wheel drive and roads are covered why would you not engage it? I actually engaged it today.

The roads were awful on my drive home. I know we all want the games to be played and complain when they don't, but in hindsight this should have been cancelled. Regardless of the finances.

Left at halftime of the NCC vs. Holmes game. Drove home to Crescent Springs, picked up "The Boss" and drove over to Barleycorns in Lakeside Park and had two beers with dinner. Purchased my friend from Dixie a beer and saw quite a few CovCath fans their enjoying the evening out. Drove home, zero problems!

 

I took my time, have good tires on my car and had no problems at all. When will the locals realize, we don't live in the South where it snows rarely but we live in an area where we do get snow, yes some years more than others but we do get Snowl and the world will not end or stand still when we do!

No, but the majority don't live where TAC and lawildcat do.

Maybe the Kenton County Board of Ed will take note and realize that no calamity ensued with conducting a sporting event under the worst of conditions.

 

Would I have recommended playing high school games at local venues last night - NO! That was an extreme case. But they might want to reconsider all of their (and others) frivilous cancellations of games the evening of an early morning snow, or the forecast of an inch or two of snow. Don't protect us from ourselves. Allow us to use good judgement, and IF the team doing the traveling feels that it is unsafe, then let them make the call on whether the game is played or not.

It took me 40 mins to get home to Orleans in Union off Longbranch. Roads were covered the whole way home but I had no issues. My problem was people doing 25 on the highway until I hit 75 south.
