Everyone gets a ring!

Featured Replies

1) Money grab by the school and ring vendor?

2) How many kids, especially boys that don't play football will even get one?

3) Would they dare wear it to school?

15 years from now there will be some clowns showing off rings they never won.

Doesn't matter to me either way. I can see both sides.

ive seen many people wear state championship rings who weren't players but had something to do with the team whether it be someone who simply were part of the chain gang for a team or someone who was the PA announcer or someone who ran the concession stand or collected money in the ticket booth. Sometimes I think some are deserving and some are not but I never lost sleep over it.

I also know of someone who works in a non football related field with the Colts but he has a super bowl ring. Simply being associated with an organization is good enough reason for those organizations to feel you deserve a ring when the team wins. So being a student of the school really isn't much different is it?

The entire organization of the Colts is working towards one goal regardless of their job...winning the Super Bowl. HS students not so much!

I don't think the security guard is working toward a SB win. Rooting for one maybe, but he and the night janitor aren't improving the QB's play. Students who support the school team are as big a part as some others with a NFL Orgaization imo.

I don't think everyone should get a ring but they do at some places.

Id rather players, coaches, and AD get them myself.

Then give them to season ticket holders also!

The purpose of an organization is to win the Superbowl, if they win they win as an organization...every person is hired to facilitate some part of that plan, even if it's making sure the floors are clean and safe.

FWIW I think most teams give a separate "Staff Ring" to non team members or coaches

This is my understanding too. The players and coaching staff get one set. Cheerleaders and others get a different type of ring. The school has over 5000 students.

Smart salesperson at work in Texas!

If they are going to do a ring for the whole school - make it different from the players.

I agree. We are on the same page with this. I also like the idea of a different style ring. That would be cool for nfl fans also. Let them buy a ring but different style.

From a family that has several rings, this is outrageous

Does everyone get an A and become Valdictorian?
