Really glad to see that some districts still draw...rather than seed. I always thought that was an interest-builder for the tournament, especially for the smaller schools that didn't have much hope. If you could play the next weakest team...in the first round...who knows? :)

Blind draws are stupid...plain and simple. It makes the regular season useless. If you have two 20 win teams vs. two 5 win seasons, no way should the two 20 win teams have to play each other to move on. Why play district games at all if no seeding?

No surprise! That makes seven of the last nine years that the draw turned out this way. My wife asked why they even bother to draw.:ohbrother:

On the boys side of things there isn't much space between Robertson, Nicholas, & Pendleton. The three of them were all hoping to avoid drawing the short straw of Harrison County. Looks like the Wildcats got it. Again.

to take this a step further... in the new district Pendleton has never drawn Nicholas, and Harrison has never drawn Robertson.

Not sure you HAVE to play district games. If it's a rivalry, great. But when you have Dawson Springs and Madisonville in the same district, things can get ugly quickly. This year the first game between those two was 79-8 and the second 75-19. And they will play again in the district tourney.

I like the blind draw just for the excitement of it. But forcing everybody in the same district to play two regular season games...and possibly a tourney game too...is another good reason.

Having said that, I realize not all districts are alike.

What is more stupid is no classification in basketball. Just think if there were no classes in football and you only had one state champion.

If there is no seeding, you do not have to play district games.

If it is not broken, do not fix it,,,,You have the All A Classic, Really how much attention does it draw..The football championship game draw less people every year.

Some districts, maybe most districts, only require 1 game between District opponents & not two. The 37th is like this.

What is stupid is that last comment. One class is what makes it great!! Ask Indiana how it's worked out since they changed.

So I am going to bring it up again...will the crowd be able to fit in the gym? By the crowd, I mean the turnout that was at the HC/PC game earlier this year.

I think that the crowd will fit just fine.
