That Brossart/St. Mary matchup might be interesting. The 'Stangs are without Jennings, but the two teams seem to be a contrast in styles.

 

What I really want to see is a Brossart/Cordia 2nd round matchup. I believe one of those two teams will battle NCC for the title.

 

I agree, but I wouldn't be shocked to see one of several teams come out of the bottom half. Betsy Layne and Jackson Co are both solid, and could give Brossart or Cordia a run in the semifinals.

 

I have trouble seeing anyone other than Cordia giving Newport Catholic a scare, and don't even expect the Lions to.

I was told the Owen Co game was cancelled for tonight anybody confirm?

 

I have combed Twitter and all of my usual sources for 8th region info mention nothing of this. Semis were played yesterday, I can't imagine finals couldn't be played today. The winning team will want two days of prep going into the All A state. I hope they get it.

 

And as soon as I post I see another answer. Buttels took care of it. But I have been watching Twitter all day. I do follow Buttels on there also.

Cool, the future mrs plantmanky is a teacher at owen and she texted me this morning and said the game was canceled. Was it supossed to be at Owen?

That was probably it, shes the asst band director so it had to be a home game because she had to be there.

Losing Jennings really hurts Brossart. It is a shame it had to happen now.

 

No doubt. Trentman & Burns deservedly get a lot of recognition, but Jennings does a whole bunch of little things for the Mustangs.

Cordia has given NCC one scare this year & really should have won that game. Having said that, I think it would be a different story the second time around.
