Who played well?

Blevins for Wayne was on fire. Had in the 30's. Stearns and Woods both played well. Woods had a faceguard a lot of the game. UCF was there to watch Woods. This also was a running clock. Wayne looked sharp. 12th region take notice.

Sean Ross for Pulaski got in foul trouble in the first qtr he fouled out in the third. The refs took him out of the game early with touch fouls. He still finished with 17 pts. Without his rebounding Pulaski struggled.

Between the shots he made for himself and he otherwise had available to him, Blevins lit it up the first half with 27. That he only scored 7 more in the second half was because he was doing his best (as the point guard) to see that his teammates shared in the scoring. FYI, the 34 surpassed his personal high of 33 just set this past Friday against East Jessamine.

 

Aside from Blevins, Wayne got excellent support from Stearns, Woods (as Jesse James said above, Woods was given a lot of attention by PC), Perkins and others.

 

Wayne County puts a formidable offense on the floor, one that is difficult to slow down. I would like to see them matched up against some of the State's other outstanding offensive teams - it would be a real fireworks show.

Absolutely hate that the Montgomery game is canceled, though I understand. Been looking forward to that one for a while.

Actually, I think they are very, very good - but Montgomry is pretty tough. And I'm becoming more "sold" on them with each passing week. Although Pulaski isn't great this year, that margin is impressive when playing at Pulaski.

 

As I said in a post recently, I think we will learn a lot about them as they are (or were) slated to play at Montgomery and play Knott Central at a neutral site. Also at Boyle, at West Jessamine and against Lex Catholic (although that's at Wayne) will all be tough tests.

 

I think they are 15 points better at home and just haven't been tested,yet, like

a Lincoln has. That's not to say they won't pass those tests with flying colors...

While I tend to agree with you on all those points, I have watched a lot of Wayne County games over the years and everyone is better at home, not just Wayne. I don't think they are 15 better and watched the Lincoln game early on and unless Lincoln has gotten some tranfers I think Wayne wins even at Lincoln. Each team I am sure has gotten better and I actually thought this game would be a good one tonight, as did most others by the size of the crowd. This was a PC team that's played way better than most expected and took SW to OT. This was a running clock game on the road against a pretty good PC team. I was even kind of shocked at how the game played out tonight. I think Wayne is the #1 team in the 12th right now with Lincoln #2. But I think the gap between 1 & 2 might be a little bigger than some think. But hey again what do I know? That's why they throw it up. Certainly going to be a great regional tourney.
