I have Read about half with Steinbeck being my favorite.

Read all but 8 of these, thank God for cliff notes! :loll:

 

I'm thankful War & Peace wasn't included.

I've read most of these, but few of them in high school. The books I remember reading we're classics, but aren't on this list. Pride and Prejudice, Wuthering Heights, A Tale of Two Cities, a John Jakes title that won't pass the word filter, The Count of Monte Christo, A Clockwork Orange...

I've read nearly all of those and I think most of them I read in high school. Several more in college.

 

To Kill a Mockingbird was assigned reading for me in middle school.

 

Lots of really great stuff there. They're classics for a reason.

I read 13 of those in school.

 

Side-note, my favorite Steinbeck book is "Travels with Charlie". 2nd place isn't close.

 

Surprised "Watership Down" didn't make that list, plus the "Canterbury Tales".

Also, it may be blasphemy to some, but I never got the big deal with Catcher In The Rye.

 

I'll admit that I have actually read very few of those books listed, but Catcher in the Rye is one that I have read and I agree with you. I don't understand what all the fuss was about.

Interesting. I actually read 1, 2, 5, 7, 12, and 16 as part of class requirements during high school.
