No Cunningham?

^

Nope, out nursing an injury.

This could have been a let down game for Cordia. After winning the All A Classic, they may not have been on their game.

Rhodes decided to sit Cunningham for the Letcher game and also for the next game, against Jenkins. He has a sore groin and the word is that Rhodes didn't want it to be aggravated any more than it is before the All A state tournament next week. Cordia had a 17 point lead at one time in this game but foul trouble and mistakes allowed Letcher to get back in the game. The freshman Combs was running the point in place of Cunningham.

What kind of team does Hammonds have at Letcher this season? Are they a legit contender?

They lost a lot from last year, including two players that quit to focus on baseball, two of their best players at that. They'll be better than what people think but IMO I don't think they are a serious contender to make it to region, although nothing would surprise me.

In my opinion the 14th region is a 4 horse race. Perry Central, Knott County, Hazard and Cordia all are heavy favorites to win the 14th. However depending on the district draw, Hazard and Perry may play in the first round of the district. Buckhorn and Breathitt have the talent to pull an upset but, the big 4 are most likely to be representing the 14th at Rupp.

I didn't know Combs was a freshman. Wow. Nice.
