May 2, 201412 yr Author That is exactly what bothers me. Why get the rest from "somewhere else". I have told you that the state has 9 Nationally ranked players in the class of 2015, why would UK not want all 9? Why is a player from somewhere else automatically better? On top of those 9, there are going to be, at least, 10 other in-state players that go to big D1 colleges to play football. That is 19 player that are good enough to play at other big D1 college, but only 4 or 5 are worthy to play at Kentucky. That way of thinking amazes me. May be "good enough" but it doesn't mean they're the best options.

May 2, 201412 yr Were arguign the same thing here RAM. I just don't think you realize how good a player has to be to play in the SEC or any other big 5 conference Maybe we are, and I'll stop now. But, I do realize how good a player has to be, but you have to understand how good any player has to be to play D1 football. And, even though we like to argue about conferences, there are great, great players in all the D1 conferences that could play at virtually any college in the country.

I don't care if he "fits my scheme" or not. 1. If I have him, no one else has him. 2. If he's that good, I'll find a place for him. Your comment reminds me of the Fugget kid several years back. He was a FB, UK said he didn't fit their scheme. He went to Tennessee and played HB and started his freshman year.

Yea, those non SEC conference can't produce real players. Randy Moss was only a MAC player because he got kicked out of Notre Dame & Florida St.

Since you asked a question, I will respond: I was only using that in general terms, you said some players may not be the "best option" and I was saying if they are "that good" I want them, then used the story of Fugget going to Tennessee as a fact in point.

What college did Jerry Rice attend? Brett Farve? What I'm saying is, there are great players in the conferences that some consider "lessor". Why was Chad Pennington and Byron Leftwich in the MAC?

At the time D1AA Marshall had three Heisman finalist in something like 5 years. Could those Heisman finalists played at Kentucky?

And, I can agree with that if you can agree that this has been an ongoing problem for many regimes at Kentucky. I will agree that, so far, it seems that Stoops is recruiting the state much better then his predecessors? I hope he keeps it up. And, I am glad Patrino is back at Louisville, not that I'm a real Louisville fan, but I know he will keep more in-state talent in-state.

College recruiting is a different animal than back then.
