Did you see that LCC vs Owsley score? They should be ashamed to beat a team that bad. I can't believe it. Trying to pad their stats no doubt. What a display of poor sportsman ship on the part of the many many many coaches

What goes around comes around. I have a Highlands-Holmes-Boyle County story to share that proves my point if anyone is interested.

I don,t see no trend here but you can't say the same. Everyone in this region thinks the same about how JBS operates. It is all for the glory of a few, shall we say a private kingdom.

Love to hear it . This is a sad state of affairs for JBS. hopefully it will come back to haunt them.

After the Jackson City/Estill game tonight, no one can blame Jackson if they beat anyone by a bad score. They gave up a 20 point lead in the 4th quarter tonight against Estill Co. So looks like Jackson is going to have to get up by 40 or so and try and hold the lead until the buzzer sounds and they shake hands, then the game is over.

JBS plays Hazard thursday. any thoughts on this game. My prediction is JBS will not win by 71 points. Stepp will not get 50

You want me to tell you what the difference is - LCC only beat Owsley 102 -55 which is only 47 points. This was only the first time all season LCC had scored 90 or more in a game. And Owsley has beaten June Buchanan this year as well....so this game wasnt a sure fire blow out like the 5 sure fire blow out games that JBS scheduled this season.....which by the way were win margins of 73, 80, 77, and wins of 97-63, and 98-49.

Beating a team like Owsley by 40 and then beating Riverside by 70+ isnt the same. IMO beating a team that is capable of playing close like Owsley should have and beating a team like Riverside that never has played close to anyone except Davies school or Piarist is not even close. Teams like Owsley dont get beat 40 everynight, the other teams we are mentioning are played to help boost stats or boost confidence.Jackson has a 20 pt lead and got beat. Letcher insured the victory by getting ahead 30+ and then resting players. When ahead of Piarest and Buckhorn by 30+ usally a teams B team can push the lead up with their subs not having to be worried about players stepping up like Estill's did tonight.

Great post BGP :thumb: You got what I was trying to say out in am much better way. :p

BGP hit the nail on the head. If Team A is the number 1 team in the state, or region, and Team B is another top 5 team in the state, or number 2 or so in that region, Team A should man handle Team B to a certain extend to show dominance. Teams that are capable of competing should expect all out efford by another good team. However a team that cannot compete and does not have the team to compete should be cut some slack, and there comes a time when this is necessary.

You are correct that JBS does not need to play these teams. They voted last year to seed their district which means they would have played Letcher,Knott,Cordia, and Jenkins twice this year. They were voted down and picked up some of these games. The district did vote to seed next year so these games will go away.

OBI is a good team now that they have the 6'7" center on the team. He just became elgible a couple weeks ago and they are better than most people realize. It is bad for them that they did not get to play a full season with him.

Unless I'm missing something, he's not even scoring in some of the games he's played and no more than four or five in others. OBI just beat Red Bird by four earlier this week. How are they better?

You know that JBS faithful do not talk about the games or the facts they just ramble on in an fashion that is not understandable. Maybe they want to plead temporary insanity? No wonder Clark Stepp is shooting for 4000 points. I read on the JBS schedule and stats that he has 500 assists already must be counting 7th and 8th grade results.

Another "big win" for the Crusaders.

I would hope that JBS plays some tougher competition over the next few seasons while Clark Stepp is there.

JBS needs to graduate themselves from the Three Rivers Conference. They've outgrown the competition. There is no need for JBS to play Piarist, Riverside, David School, and OBI the next several seasons.

JBS entertains Hazard in their final game. That should be interesting.

In defense of JBS, they have played a tougher schedule this year than in year's past ( including a win at PCC ). They also beat some other pretty decent teams. Their record this year is fairly legitimate, in my opinion.

On the other hand, they did drop out of the Three Rivers' Conference, which makes it hard to understand why they are continuing to play Piarist, Riverside and the David school, esp. twice each. OBI, in my opinion, is pretty good competition, especially on their home floor.

All things told, I feel that JBS is one of the best teams in the region and while I understand the need to get a few "gimmes" on the schedule, I can't see playing those three teams ( Riverside, David and Piarist ) that many times and beating them that badly.

When has Buckhorn been beaten by anyone that badly, this year? I know they had a couple of losses in the mid-to high 20 point range, but that is far from what you are talking about. While it isn't exactly a basketball dynasty, Buckhorn is far from the level you are talking about.

You might of had a point if they only played each school once. But they knew what Riverside was bringing to the game and they comtinued to humiliate them. The Stepps will all step down when the boys all graduate and they have had wonderful high school careers. JBS will be in the same shape as Riverside and I hope other schools won't do thier kids as they have done kids this year. I wonder what thier namesake June Buchanan would say. Someone dedicated to the underpriveledged, watching the priveledged do this to others.
