January 14, 201412 yr I've got a text into a buddy of mine on the Covington fire department to see if he knows anything. My buddy is on his Kelly week right now, but he said he heard from another guy off-duty that it was just trash that someone thought looked suspicious. He followed that up saying, "I'm not sure why this got special attention, but we have suspicious package calls all the time. It's almost always just trash. Never anything interesting."
January 15, 201412 yr I would think that the Northern KY community of cities or counties would set up their own bomb disposal unit. I hope this turns out to be nothing serious. Not really necessary. Cincinnati Fire gets funding from The FBI for having a Bomb Squad. They are happy to make runs to KY because it increases their run numbers (which helps drive their need) and gives them a chance to use their skills. And they are VERY good at what they do and are Very well equipped.
