It is a good thing what Petrino has done. This is the expectation from coaches in high profile positions and, frankly, is not out of the ordinary. The only reason this was posted as a thread is because even U of L fans recognize the man's questionable character. As a UK alum and fan, nothing posted in this thread changes my opinion of Coach Petrino- he still is a man of markedly questionable character based on what has been reported about him and his commitment to his family and previous jobs. He is one helluva football coach, though.

Nobody said it was out of the ordinary, but it's a joke that so few people can even comment after throwing him and the university under the bus. This thread has gone exactly how I expected.

No doubt Petrinos' "loyalties" sway like a flag on the coast. However, he has no other choice but to be successful and loyal at Louisville or just fade away like on old general.

 

This guy is too driven, arrogant, and backed into a self chosen corner. I am a UK fan and respect what this guy is capable of if he " gets it right. " And he really doesn't want to fade way. So get ready Kentucky there is a new sheriff in town who has no other choice but to get it right.

 

The irony is a great deputy in Brohm was appointed the new HC at WKU. It wouldn't surprise me in 3-4 years if Western becomes the best Div I college football program in our state! Going to be fun to see how things shake out in the years ahead.

 

In the meantime BP, you're going to need to do a lot more than cut a nice check to convince folks you're not a complete rapscallion. I pray Kosair utilizes his donations well to help those in need!

It's nice that he donates money but most millionaires do. He can't just throw money around to cure his past. We have heard from people like Warrick Dunn about Bobby, and the UL player who said Bobby gave him a hard time about missing practice for the death of his close friend.

 

Maybe Bobby can turn over a new leaf but he will have to show it over a number of years.

Did you even read the article or original post? He was donating while he was at UofL the first time...

 

As for the players, you want to compare players who have praised him against those who have said anything negative?

A little off the subject but I am surprised Kosair released this info. When I worked for not for profits, it was well understood donor information was absolutely confidential and releasing it (good or bad) without donor approval would result in immediate firing. I guess Kosair could have asked the Petrinos for permission just seems odd.
