NCC doubling up the Indians doesnt surprise me. In fact I thought it might be worse.

Fire, I'm inclined to agree with you. Question for those several posters that have continued to post that the future is bright at Holy Cross: why? from where? I just don't see this pipeline of young men at or heading into Holy Cross that are going to elevate that program dramatically. There are several really good 7th and 8th grade boys in Catholic schools, and I don't pretend to know where all of them are ear-marked for, but I know several and there aren't a lot of future Indians in the mix.

Wish I could provide some information, but I am not close to the HC BB program. I'm not going down the speculation road there.

That is great if they are a SF, PF, or C. If they play the one or two those spots are spoken for by daddy's boys.

Holy Cross has what I consider a good team coming up from the 7th and 8th grade, also there are feeder schools such as St Augustine, Holy Family, St Anthony, etc. which will be added to the HC squad. St Augustine has a player who can flat out fly. He attempted a dunk during a tournament in Cincinnati over the weekend and barely missed.

What's the feeling in Latonia for Coach Shrand?

 

When they were looking for a coach there was a rumor saying they tried to get Joe Frederick. I wonder how hard they tried to get him and how good he might have done with this team?

 

Having been around him in the AAU world I can tell you he has a unique rapport with the players. Good energy. Players like playing for him even if he's kicking them in the rear occasionally. Knows the game from my experience.

I recently made a comment of a possible promising Indian future after seeing Holy Cross dominate South Dearborn in the 2nd half of their game in the Lloyd Invitational, that although presently young and small, they have a determined bunch of smart quick decent ball handlers who can run a textbook perfect offense, and shoot the 3 well, hinting to better days to come.

 

I personally am not in the know about up and coming youth that can contribute in the future, but their present players very likely could mature into a nice cohesive team through experience and familiarity, and upcoming talent, as others seem to be knowledgeable about, can only serve as a nice compliment.

 

Other top 9th Region contenders who traditionally bring to the table talented teams will likely continue to do so, and while it's a bit too difficult to see into the crystal ball to deem Holy Cross a future top team in the region, judging by what they have in production now, mixed with their historical and traditional spirit, I've no doubt they will soon again be, at the least, a serious enough contender in the 9th not to be taken lightly.

 

This obviously is a rebuilding year for them, but I'm anxiously awaiting their near future to see in reality what my crystal ball is detecting, as a snazzy quick sharpshooting dazzling bunch of ball handlers who run circles around their opponents, who will be required to be on their best, full of the necessary stamina to keep up.
