If anyone thinks the KHSAA is going to put together an All-State team, they have no idea of the mission of the KHSAA. That one's NOT going to happen.

I understand that, I only mentioned them because without any consequences for not participating in a all star team for the state there will always be serious issues with them because there is no incentive for teams or coaches to participate in the nomination process as it is.

 

It's almost as bad as the all star nominations for Bluegrass etc. when it isn't because not all the coaches belong to the association that puts out that award so how can you have best of the bluegrass when the best aren't even involved or pay their dues or whatever they have to do to be a part of the entire thing.

I do not know the correct process, however, I am tired of seeing "All Staters" narrowing their choices to NAIA schools, or D2 schools while D1 players are honorable mention. Anybody think Florida's first teamers are NAIA bound?

I hope you understand the best players don't always end up at D1 schools. You do understand how recruiting works for the most part and the biggest thing is attending camps etc. If you don't attend camps and combines doesn't mean you aren't good.

 

Take Mr Football this year, do you think the best college Mr Fant could of went to was WKU?

While the Courier Journal team was not as bad as the AP team, there were several very suspect selections. In your defense, I am not real sure why coaches do not take the time to vote because to me that comes with the territory. All kids like to be recognized for a job well done. These teams are never going to be perfect, but when certain very succesful schools throughout the state have few if any kids on the teams and other moderately successful teams have a half dozen or so, something does not add up.

I'm sorry 18 of the top 24 players weren't from Northern Kentucky. They do play football elsewhere.

Give me your All-State first team and tell me why your guys deserved to make it over the guys on the C-J team.

Honestly I was just having a little fun with my previous post; however, I will say that I don't think it is was just NKY that was under represented. Also while I would probably enjoy going through the exercise and the argument, I really try hard not to post anything negative about high school kids.

By vote or orther means of selection, there is no credibility to any team when James Quick is 3rd team.

Please explain to me what "block voting" is. Anyway you can tell me what kids from NKY were even nominated and what coaches actually voted? Just curious on my part.

So you sound as if you are talking out of both sides of your mouth. Sorry if you aren't, but you claim the kids that made it got more votes, yet you say you had to tinker to get Barker on 2nd team, does that mean he didn't get the 2nd most votes for QB? I'm not going to pretend to know EVERY kid in the state who deserves to be honorable-mention All-State. I know enough to know Barker is better than honorable mention and Quick was better than third team. But after the obvious ones, it's up to the coaches to "get it right."

I understand, but as you have noted the coaches don't get the obvious ones right so how could you expect them to get the others right? I'm not even talking about HM's I'm talking about players that should of been on the 1st or even 2nd team yet didn't even make the HM list.
