There are many across the state who look at GRC as a potential Scott County, Henderson County and even Meade County.

 

One horse town. Athletes. 6A. The lone three one horse town, 6A schools in the state who just so happen to have Good-Great football programs.

 

Plus, the college game isn't all that it's cracked up to be...especially at the lower levels. I have no idea what Shadon's financial set up is at Wofford, but I know of others who have been at that same level within the last few years and it's not much, if any different than what most make at the HS level as a teacher/HFC. Matter of fact, depending on the number of years a guy might have into teaching, it's less at many lower collegiate level schools.

 

Oh I know what you are saying about the money, that is very much true. But that is why he left in the first place was to go coach college ball. Now the one thing about coaching college that I would doubt he would get at GRC is he would have to teach and coach not just coach football and do football all day.

Why would they want to hire someone back that has accomplished very little in his 13 year tenure at GRC? Columbia had 5 winning season out of his 13 years, won 3 playoff games out of the 16 he played and had a 44% winning percentage.

 

During the same time period the boys basketball team won 71% of their games, with 3 regional championships and 4 regional runner ups. Also the baseball team won 70% of their games and had 2 regional titles.

 

Keep doing the same thing you always did and you will continue to get the same thing you always got.

The boys basketball team the last two years has had a loosing record of only winning 9 games each in the last two seasons. Is this a reflection on Coach H. coaching ability. Not in my opinion. Personally I think he has done a great job with the talent he has had the last two years. GRC tried going with a new coach, won 3 games in two years. Not understanding your logic on this one.
