Why didn't Beetle, Markel or Q play in the first quarter ??

Why didn't Beetle, Markel or Q play in the first quarter ??

They were late.

]Dixie had less than a week to prepare for Newcath. As everyone knows, I'm a big fan of the Breds and have built a great relationship with their players. With that said. NO WAY they beat Dixie by 30 if they play again. Dixie has improved greatly since those first two games. The biggest area is their defense. They flat out get after it at that end. Their offense also runs much smoother now that Hatton has settled in and the players around him have realized their roles and what they need to do for Dixie to be successful.

Bolden might have went off for 30 in only 3 quarters, but Liam Rabe's defense on him was outstanding last night. Ask a Dixie coach and they will tell you they couldn't have defended him better. He simply is that good and made some tough shots, which is what big time players do in key situations.

What do you mean by this? It was their first game of the year. They had months to prepare. Even the footballers were practicing for a couple of weeks.

Not true Stinkboy... Hatton had only been Cleared to practice the week before... Hedger and Moore were only back less than a week... Daria had been injured and only back a week... Niehaus was coming back from an injury too.

Hatton still is not in top form yet. Watch out when he is!

These boys would love another crack at some of these teams at the end of the year. (and I'm not talking about Highlands)

The question was directed to Walter - not sure why you felt the need to respond. But since you did....

Football season at Dixie ended 11/15 - 18 days before the first game. That quite a bit more than a week.

Went back and checked the NCC/Dixie thread - no mention by you of these injuries to Niehaus and Daria. I think that thread would have been the time to point these injuries out instead you chose to call out the coaching staff.

The Hatton recovery was well documented and used as an explanation.

For the record, I think Dixie is a very good team. Solid at the point, scorers at the 2/3, and big and strong under the boards. If they weren't they wouldn't have played Holmes this tough.

You'll get your wish. Dixie will have their chance against NCC or Holmes in the region. Hope everyone is healthy and ready to go by then.

I can respond to any thread I want to. I know exactly when the football players started practicing... you do not. Sounds like you have some sour grapes.

I very seldom feel the need to reply but what the heck are you talking about? Stinky all but saiid you have a good team and you take offense. Congrats on playing Holmes tough! At HHS we know we have a lot of work to do to bring the program back. Heck what did you mean when you stated we can't wait to play some of those teams again except highlands?

Sinky has absolutely no clue what he is talking about and you have even less of a clue. Good luck bringing that program back. You guys should spend your time focusing on that endeavor... it apparently needs all the help it can get.

1) I don't know ennam but judging by their posts they follow Dixie pretty closely, maybe that's why they replied..

2) ennam is right. While the football season may have ended on 11/15, 18 days before the first basketball game, that doesn't mean Hedger and Moore were on the court the next day. They took time off to let their bodies recover and rightfully so.

3) Niehaus had a bad elbow and Daria was injured as well during the preseason. They aren't excuses, they are facts.

No sour grapes here ever. Not my style. Don't care that much.

I ask a simple question to Walter. Since there was no mention of any of these explanations (see NKUbaseball - I said explanations not excuses) in the game thread from 3 weeks ago I wondered about having only a week to prepare. If the injury info about Daria or Niehaus or the footballers taking off 10 days after the season would have been given back on 12/3 then there would be no need for my question.

Like I said before stink... you have no clue. I posted the following on Nov. 26, 2013 at 8:30 AM in the "Dixie vs NCC predictions" thread... its still there, if you care to to do some reading instead of making ignorant, false assumptions:

"I am a Dixie fan and I agree that this will be a rout. Dixie looked far from ready at the scrimmage last week, and it wasn't just BH. Andrew Hedger and Drew Moore both just got on the floor for the first time last week because of football and Austin Schreck had been out for a significant amount of time as well because of his surgery. Another player who had missed time the week before was Daria because of a concussion. And Niehaus had an injury before that and missed some time.

They are nowhere near where they will be at the end of December.

So, with all that said they have nothing to lose in this game. They are the clear underdog and NCC is the clear favorite by a country mile."

Yawn.

Thanks for the invite. No need to go back and do some reading - you posted it right here.

Let's see - I have no clue. I post false assumptions, and I'm ignorant. Who's the one saddled with sour grapes again?

Just for clarification .... I ask a question to Walter. I answered you because none of your explanations were listed in GAME THREAD. That is the thread that would talk about how the game played out. No I didn't go back and read the prediction thread to see if there was some explanation other than that presented in the game thread. Shame on me.

I do appreciate you reposting your thought from November 26th - one week before the game and stating that the footballers just got on the court last week - me thinks that makes at least 2 weeks before the game. I also appreciate you mentioning that the injuries by Daria and Niehaus were earlier in November (again your post above was 1 week before the game) so the time they missed was at least 2 weeks before the NCC game.

BTW your prediction was spot on for the NCC game and for their progress since.

Don't you have HHS basketball that needs your focus? LOL... or maybe, just maybe after you saw Dixie come in and do the Bluebirds you turned into a Dixie fan? Gives you something to root for? Gives you an opportunity to have hope going into a game? A chance to get excited to see good basketball? Talent? Effort? Defense? :)
