Great win for the Tomcats... starting to get some momentum going into the tourney.

The Tomcats looked fantastic tonight! I dont know if they were that good or Pikeville is just that bad. Adam Cannoy had a great game, with a career high 19 points. Drew was his usual self with 19, I think Wilcox and Williams had about 8 a piece or so. Ashland's D was really active tonight and forced a bunch of turnovers. Matt Thomas only had 2 points, he didnt start so all the seniors couls start tonight, he never really seemed to get into the flow of the game. But its nice to know we can win when he doesnt get his average.We can be scary when he is on and everyone else contributes! Growing more and more optimistic everday!

Good win by Ashland in a game they should have won. Many teams lately have been dropping games they should.

Good win for the Tomcats, but Pikeville is only sub-par this season!

This was a good win for the Tomcats. Pikeville may not be the toughest team we’ve played this year. But, this is still a momentum builder.

 

What a great night for Adam Cannoy. This team is good when everyone contributes – as I know they can.

 

I say that what is behind you is not important. The only thing that matters is how you finish the season. The tournaments are the real objective for the season. Keep working hard and keep your eye on the goal.

Great win for Flynn and his tomcats. The best thing about this was that Pikeville showed up and played!!!!. Congrats to the Tomcats. :ylsuper:

Beating a poor team like Pikeville does not contitute peaking at the right time. That is just showing up at the gym. I think in 2 years beating Pikeville may be a good thing but not this year. Good luck Tomcats!

Buck Master I dont understand how that win does not constitute as peaking at the right time. I mean Ashland is on a 4 game winning streak, this is somthing that hasn't happened all year. And they started this streak with wins over two quality 16th region opponents in Elliot Co. and Greenup Co. It like a snowball. You start out with a small ball of snow and as it keeps rolling it gets bigger and bigger. And with these 4 wins in a row, Ashland's confidence is growing, and they are starting to play together. And what is so great about this, is that it is right before districts. LIke blue blazer said, Watch out, you may get Scratched.

Good game for the cats. Cannoy had a great game leading the cats with 19 points and 9 boards. McDavid had his usual game with 18 points and 8 boards. Thomas didn't start so that Reliford could start on senior night. Thomas never got involved. He picked up 2 quick fouls and was back on the bench and in the 3rd got his 3rd real quick and had to sit again. Thats 4 wins in a row. Just keep the momemtum going next week.

 

Pikeville has a young team, but never quit battling even when they got down by 20 early. I look for them to have a good team in a couple of years.

The players that primarily get p.t. for Pikeville's bball team are pretty much 1-2 seniors, 1 junior, and all the rest Sophomores (with 3 Frosh that are primary in the mix too).

 

They'll be good next year...they'll be a lot better than good in two.
