Boyle fans have never been know for their class.

Me experience with boyle fans is that they like to dish it out but can't take in return. There was some crying going on about people celebrating on their field after a big game. But I guess it is ok to single out one player from the opposing team and disrespect the head Bball coach at uk.

How is that any different from yelling out airball every time a kid touches the ball after he shoots an airball? Isn't that singling out a kid?

Oh, just saw your last few words about disrespecting the bball coach at UK. That's laughable. Makes me soooooooo glad that I am not a UK fan. Make sure you scold every high school that taunts Brad because he will be taunted at every road game.

They weren't taunting him for his play or anything he did or could control. They taunted him because his dad is famous and that is lame. They made signs before the game started saying he wasn't a good player. Boyle can keep trying to justify it but for me something like this was not a surprise and typical of the fan base.

The sign said 'Too bad you can't play like your dad can coach.' That's taunting his play. It also wasn't up long and it disappeared after Cal entered the gym.

Have you you ever even been to a high school game before? If so, do you just ignore the student sections?

Do you really want to start slinging rocks at the Boyle fan base? Aren't you a Mercer fan? I have examples from Mercer fans and players I can bring to the table. All you got is a Daddy's Boy chant and a sign from Boyle. Oh, and some sore losers from Boyle mad about Mercer celebrating on the field. Site more examples that are typical of the Boyle fan base. Please. I want you to. I got Marty Jaggers and Bill Mason on speed dial. Fire away.

When I played we won the 12th region so yeah I would say I have been to a few high school basketball games before. I didn't go to mercer and this is not about them but Boyle. They have to be smart enough to know that if you are going to taunt Cal's son then you are going to get blasted statewide and accept that and not cry about it when everyone is letting them have it. My personal opinion is I would be embarrassed if my school did this. If you don't feel that way then that is your opinion and is ok by me.

Not a very smart move by the Boyle fans.

We don't care. We stick together. Folks want to cry about it then so be it. We'll start selling Kleenex at the games to raise money for the program.

And let me add this for good measure since the focus is on the student section and not the game.

What gets lost in all of this is that Boyle County played a tremendous game against a quality opponent from the 11th Region. There are all kinds of pictures of signs and videos of chants but there isn't one highlight of Hagen Tyler scoring 28 points anywhere. There isn't one highlight of Chapman Bean's 14 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals. There isn't one highlight of Colton Elkins' dunk on Matt Rose from which I was told was one of the best dunks that people have seen in that gym since the Spencer Perrin days. I find it awfully peculiar that a game in which Boyle County played tremendously well is centered around controversy from things that didn't affect the game. What is really going on? How is the main story of this game about Calipari and his kid when in fact they were minimal factors in the game? How is this a statewide story sweeping across the internet and why are the only pictures and videos from the game of the crowd? There is a link to a rundown for the game but why isn't that info just made known on BGP when it's obvious people were there to cover the game. Or were they there to cover the crowd and Calipari and not the team? To me this is an incredible disservice to the Boyle County basketball team. But that's all right. Keep focusing on the fans. Maybe one of Pitino's grandkids will play for a future Boyle County opponent so we can get some more quality coverage of our student section since covering the game seems to be too much to ask for.

With the the way the team played this game they deserved better coverage. That's all I am trying to say.

PP92...I just wanted you to know that there will be all kinds of Boyle Highlights coming soon. Just didn't have time to edit them yet.

I am not surprised by the amount of attention it received. Coach Cal is revered as a god. I think it would've received similar coverage regardless of whose fan base did it, so I don't think it was a Boyle thing. It got a lot of attention because Wireman's coverage; he has a lot of followers so a lot of folks saw it.

PP made a great point about something that got lost in the mix - Tyler's 28 point game in a convincing victory over a ranked (by some) team. If that had been a Lexington team beating LCA by 20, with a 28 point player performance, I agree that we would've heard a lot more about that!

And let me add this for good measure since the focus is on the student section and not the game.

Thank your own fans that the story was was the taunting and not the play of your team. Hopefully they will tone it down a little bit going forward so the good play of your team isn't overshadowed by some bad sportsmanship in the stands

Or maybe you can continue to turn a deaf ear to your own school's fans and players and quit worrying about us. We won't change a thing. Maybe next time when people cover the game they'll focus on the game and not the 10 minutes your favorite coach's kid plays. We don't owe Calipari squat.
