Congrats to Williamsburg. Sounds like a very good football team and I'm looking forward to cheering for you next week.

 

To my Ram brothers, hold your heads high gentlemen. You too have a fine team and you have had one heck of a season. Enjoy your accomplishments and be proud. You are now the most successful Ram team in history and that shows how hard you have worked. For those if you who are coming back next year, use this as a building block and work harder for next year. You can achieve the ultimate goal.

Raceland, who I became a big fan of this year, do to great people I meant there and taking in my first game at their school.

Congrats on everything you guys accomplished this season, right now this one will hurt to much for you to fully realize how good you guys were and how much you guys did as a team.

 

To the seniors who are going on to play football at the next level, never forget the feeling you had as the clock hit triple zeros. Use that for motivation. Good luck to you guys on the field next season and in the classroom

 

To those seniors not playing football any more good luck in everything you do.

 

To the remaining players take a few days off and if you are not playing another sport, hit the weight room like you never have before,this team now becomes yours and it goes as far as you guys want it to go.

You are correct. I thought it was going to be a close game. I had Williamsburg winning, 20-14. Scary thing is if Skyler Griffith didn't get hurt early on, it could have been much worse.

I do know that sidelinedoc was pretty upset with the authorities at Williamsburg in that Raceland's coaches were kept away, were not allowed on the press box and/or above to where they get the above ground sight to make calls, send info to coach Maynard. I haven't ever heard of anything like this anywhere else that Raceland has played. All schools provide opposing staff's a vantage point if their own coaches have that advantage. I may be wrong but that is the info that I got on the update thread. I don't know what the khsaa laws are or even if there are any on a situation like this. Seems to me that if one coaching staff has this opportunity the opponent should be provided the same but as I said, I am not sure.

 

 

You boys just made a rookie mistake and learned a playoff lesson. We take a bucket truck as part of our entourage when traveling in the playoffs and playing in places where we know there will be issues or new places where we are unsure.

Hats off to Williamsburg. They are the best team we played all year. Raceland played as well as they could but truth of the matter is, Williamsburg was better in the trenches, DB's, QB, receivers & at LB. Our RB was better but the line play probably didn't allow that to show. It was the first game all year that we couldn't move the ball.

Congrats on a great year. Trust me, the Seniors will always remember the Pikeville game (I know I will),practicing on Thanksgiving, beating the team from Westwood & shutting out Ironton. To the rest of my sons, remember how it felt last night to be so close to the carpet and hearing the other team's fans cheer, "Bowling Green, Bowling Green!". Use this as great motivation for next year which begins today. Focus and remember Nov 29, 2013. Plus, if you do all it takes in the off season and TCB on the field next Fall, the State Semi-Final would be on the hallowed ground at Rams Stadium.

I have had more time to collect my thoughts from last nights loss and wanted to post after I settled down. Raceland fans are passionate (to say the least) about our teams, kids, school and sometimes we all say things that we don't mean out of anger. I think that I can speak for the entire communities of Raceland / Worthington in saying that we couldn't be more proud of this 2013 Raceland Rams football team and coaching staff.

This season saw milestone accomplishments for the Raceland football Program. Raceland football met and surpassed the #500 win plateau, This season brought Raceland their First Regional Championship in school history. The Rams were one win away from playing for a 1A State title. SO, to Coach Maynard and staff, the Raceland Rams football team..................

 

I am Very Proud of Coach Maynard and the Rams tonight...I know its heart wrenching to lose and for the season to end especially for the Seniors...but in a few weeks this season and what you have went through together and accomplishments will be some of your fondest memories in life. This season you laid it all on the field for each other; your Friends, Your Teammates and Your Brothers!

Congrats again to the Raceland Rams, the people of this community are proud of you !
