We got there 15 minutes before game time and got one of the last "school spots". Belfry may bring a bigger contingent than Mason County.

 

Get there an hour or so before kickoff and you shouldn't have any problem.

Word of advice... Belfry will bring a huge crowd. Possibly the best travelling fanbase pound for pound in the State.

 

The Belfry fans will be there very early and I don't expect any open seats on the visitor side. I would anticipate if there are any seats to be had within 45 minutes of kickoff it may be on the home side.

That's exactly how the radio guys described it. That was a huge play, I think making a 14-10 game a 21-10 game.

 

Word I got is, it is illegal, ball should have been blown dead as soon as anyone caught it after someone called for a fair catch. So I'm assuming the refs missed it. Not the only reason they lost, but a bad break for sure.

No..I agree not the reason Mason lost. But Mason Co also had two TD's CALLED BACK for penalties. Different game then...maybe. And yes...word i got to (from KHSAA ref) is once the player singles fair catch....it's a fair catch. No player can run with it, at that point.

Anyway, I wanted to congratulate the Colonels on the win and on reaching the semifinals two years in a row. The rematch with Belfry, that most people have been expecting all season is finally here and it should be a donnybrook. It is really good to hear that Pope is back on the field. He is too good a player not to have a hand in this run, and although I'm sure it makes Bourbon Co a better team and tougher opponent, I am glad he is suiting up because he is really fun to watch. I'm really looking forward to coming to Paris next Friday, hope the game is as good as it looks to be on paper. I'd call it a pretty even matchup right now, with Bourbon a slight favorite.

 

Congratulations also to Mason County. The Royals are one of the 3A teams I always cheer for and I was hoping for a return trip to Maysville (and DeSha's) but it was not in the cards. You guys had a great season and it sounds like you played a good game and gave it your all. No shame in losing to a better team. Maybe next season we will both win out and you will get to come to Belfry for the semifinals. It is always fun to play a classy team like Mason Co.
