November 20, 201312 yr 16 Awarded Presidential Medal of Freedom This is the highest civilian honor in the country.....President Obama awarded the honor to 16 individuals today, including Oprah and President Clinton. Being that this is such a prestigious honor, it begs the question....Ernie Banks? Dean Smith? I mean, seriously??? What exactly are the criteria for the Medal of Freedom?

You disagree with both because they have a (D) behind their names. Simple as that. IMO, both are deserving. President Clinton was selected for his foundation work, and as much as I dislike Oprah, she's clearly done a ton of great work and deeds for those that are less fortunate.

It's a joke. Oprah because she campaigned for him, Ernie Banks because he played for Chicago where Obama is from, Dean Smith who coached for 3 decades aand only won the title twice awarded only because that is Obama's favorite team because of Michael Jordan who played for...anyone want to guess? you're right, Chicago. How sad is it that they all have to have the Chicago theme.

November 21, 201312 yr I have no problem with Ernie Banks, he is TIME Deserving Oprah on the other hand has done no more than others. Angelie Jolie has done just as much if not more than Oprah. How is Rupp not on the list.
