Everybody has a choice. It's the great thing about America. And again, anytime you don't like a policy your employer has should the government come in and make law about it?

 

You are correct that everybody has a choice, but I would argue those with better job skills have much more choice than those who do not. For many low skilled workers, their choices of jobs not requiring such hours may be limited so while I do not want goverment interference, I do recognize for many people that choice may not realistically be there or may be extremely limited hence why I do not like companies requiring workers to come in on Thanksgiving.

No problem with it, as stated on here by others. Nobody is making you go. My wife had me go to Kohl's about 8 years ago on Black Friday. So I get up at 3:30, arrive at 4:00, get the three "must have" items at great savings. The line literally wrapped around the store, took two hours to check out. We gave the 3 items at Christmas to the recipients. All three returned the items. To say the least, I told my wife, don't ever ask me to do that again. She hasn't asked and I don't think she will. It might have been the look and tone when making that statement. I just sleep until I'm done on Black Friday and enjoy the day.

Tell me again why stores shouldn't be allowed to begin a sale when they wish?
