In 6A football, 1996 saw Nelson County defeat Paul Dunbar for the 6A crown. Since then T has won 10 titles, X has won 4 and Male has won 2. What a run for the 3 big Louisville schools!

 

Is this the year another team (even Manual) breaks through? And if not, how long will it be before it happens?

And addition to this, the Big Three have played each other in the finals nine times since 1997. So not only have Trinity, X and Male dominated the championships, they've also basically eliminated much of the state before the championship game every even comes around.

 

Also, just because I was curious, the average score of state final games that involved two members of the Big Three is 31-16

If it doesn't happen this year...it'll be a while. I'm not sure it has as much to do with the "Super District", as it does the strength of Trinity/ St. X.

Technically it was 4A in 1996 but the point is the same.

 

I won't address the random draws but this is why the Super District is a good idea for the KHSAA.

^ I disagree......but they did give up the potential $ draw.....so it must be very important to them.
