November 14, 201312 yr That was playground ball. That was taunting. May have been a pump fake but it was still taunting.
November 15, 201312 yr James Harden. I sometimes make ridiculous claims like I invented the question mark.
November 15, 201312 yr Preventative is also Tony Allen swiping the ball from Stephenson, taking it the other way for a dunk and laughing while Stephenson's earning potential and livelihood is eroded as he's yanked and dressed down by his coach for turning the ball over carelessly. To me, preventative is addressing a loose cannon like Ron Artest whose went into the stands to swing on fans and concussed Russell Westbrook by "celebrating". Easy, my man. You've gone a bit overboard with the "earning potential and livelihood" comment. You fake a ball into the face you're taunting. It's not a basketball move. It is not being used to gain an advantage. It's a "punk you" move.
November 15, 201312 yr I don't agree it wasn't a pump fake. May not of been a good one. But it was a pump fake. A pump fake doesn't mean shot only. Maybe there are different definitions of "pump fake."

Allen gets tons of respect if he does that or pulls a Kobe (when Matt Barnes faked throwing the ball at him and Kobe didn't even flinch). I do think Allen moved his feet some and got a little off-balance from the "fake". I'm more of a guy inclined to side with the reaction Steve Spurrier gave to a reporter who asked about him running up the score against UK when more or less said, "well, we play again next year and they can do something about it then". Now if this were high school sports, I wouldn't like the move. Even smaller college sports, I wouldn't like it. Pro sports though, couldn't bother me less. There's way more I'd rather take out of the game. With that said, I know I get caught up in hyperbole too. :thumb:
November 18, 201312 yr Maybe there are different definitions of "pump fake." I don't think it was a smart play. But I played against guys who would fake pump or hold ball out to bait a defender into committing to go for the ball. I just can't buy that was worth a technical. We can agree to disagree. I ain't mad atcha
