Could care less what bball does. As many have said many times, when football has one state championship, we can compare the two sports. Until then, lets talk football.

As far as the second question, what is hard about letting them all in. If that's the mentality, there are ways to make that happen. We aren't talking about very many more teams! But apparently that's not the mentality because there IS a process in place.

Why don't you tell me in your words why there is a process in place and what are the intentions of that process?

I would say, the n Mr Tackett will you please drive to Louisville and let RockPride and the restof Trinity nation know that Trinity will not be playiing in the post season because they have a losing record.

I'd then order a club sandwich and another Mt Dew.

I'd then ask one last question.

Because every team does not make the playoffs, and the few that do make it based on no wins due to number of teams in some districts is actually the minority not the majority as RCC wants you to believe. What does the current strudture really hurt?

I'd then watch everyone scratch their head trying to come up with an answer to that question aand aftter no reasonable answer I'd order a round on RCC.

To add to this...we wouldn't be sending Mr Tackett to Trinity to explain anything to them. We would be sending him to Grant Co to explain to those kids why Cooper made the playoffs with just one more district win than them. Why can't they play in the playoffs?

So tell me, should there or should there not be a process? After reading your other posts, it feels like you think there should be some kind of process in place. So how do you explain why Cooper gets in with 1 district win and Grant gets in with one less district win. It can't just apply when it benefits your team. What if Grant would have snuck a district win in. Then what would have been your thoughts if they did and the tiebreaker didn't benefit Cooper. Would you be on here preaching that they should find a way to let them all in? Because then your argument against Boone and other no-win teams go out the door.

The goal of the entire "process" is to get every team into the post season, an opportunity to win the post season playoffs and a state title - just like it is done in every other sport in Kentucky. Unfortunately, it isn't possible to get every football team into the post season in football, even with a 6 class framework because some districts have more than 4 teams. Therefore, the regular season district seeding process is used to make sure in districts with more than four teams that the four teams who earned their way into the top 4 seeds get into the post season.

intentions are to try and make sure the best four teams from every district get into the post season.

Please explain why it's impossible to not let them all in. There are only a few teams that don't get in now. Why so hard to let them in?

If the real intentions are to get as many as possible a chance to play, it should be real easy for the really smart guys at the top to figure out how to add a few more teams. If that is really the intention, does seem like it would really take a lot to get there.

And when you use the words "the best" and "earned", that really contradicts what you say about promoting about all teams having an opportunity. When you say the best and earned, that sure sounds like what I'm promoting. I'm just saying really only take the best and the ones that truly earned it.

So should teams earn it or not?

You said the intentions are to get the best 4 teams into the playoffs. Agreed! That the process today as you described it. I say the best 4 is too many. In the majority or the districts, no one has to do anything to show they are the best or earn a spot, as you say. That clearly is a fact as we look at the no win teams and the teams with 1-3 wins and no district wins taking a playoff spot.

It's not hard to figure out how to let the all in, if that is really the intentions.

See heres where you're wrong AGAIN. Mr Tackatt wouldn't have to drive to Louisville and tell T that they didn't make the post season because Trinity is a 2 seed. They took care of business in their district and played an unbelieveale out of district schedule that led to losses. I said nothing about not making the playoffs based on your overall record. The only reason I said anything about the overall record is to show how many teams with losing records "earned" a playoff spot. I think you'd agree that T's record (because of who they play) is not a typical KY high school scenario. Again you change the subject or twist words to not address the question. You assume I'm talking about teams with losing records making he playoffs. I used that stats to show the percentage of teams with losing records making the playoffs as an example of how the current process is not working as intended. Not sure where I said there should NEVER be a team with a losing record should be in the playoffs. I'm fine if they earn their way in. There will always be an exception to the norm. But 36% (losing teams) doesn't appear to be an exception!

Secondly, I asked what would be your response to "Is the current process working as Mr Tackett explained?" Answer that question. Don't deflect the answer. Because if there is a process (which no one can say there isn't), there has to be a reason in place for a process or there wouldn't be one. If you think the process is in place but the intentions of the process are different that what I described above, I'd listen to that argurment. But if you agree that there is a process in place and the intentions of that process are as stated (or very close), then don't come back with "why does it hurt anything" Answer the question. Because if your answer is "why does it hurt anything" then why have the process at all??? And I know you don't like that because I've already heard you talk about Boone Co getting in and your more in favor of 3 instead of 4 on MANY occasions. So what is it Hellbird, "I want a process" or "why does it hurt to let them all in?" If you want the process to do what you have stated many times, then the process (as is) is not working. So I assume that you (sitting at that table) would say, you're right, the process is not working...based on many of your other posts. Don't complain about is on one side and then say it doen't hurt anything on the other.

You said the teams had to have a winning record to get in the playoffs. Who cares what seed. You can't backpedal now.

And to answer your question. Yes the current system is working.

Please show me where I said teams had to have a winning record. Don't bother, you won't find it. You may have made that assumption, but never said that and never would.

So if you say the current system is working, then I assume you agree on the intentions of what the process is for (as I outlined it above). To earn your way into the playoffs. Weed out the weaker teams and reward the better teams based on their performance.

With that said, please tell me how Cooper earned their way into the playoffs. Heck if it weren't for Cooper being lucky enough to be in a district with 5 teams and one of them being Grant Co. ...Cooper wouldn't have had a district win. Then tell me what they would have done to earn it. So they should be grateful was a 5th team!

Or what if Conner and Scott would have been 4-0 and Scott was 3-1 and the rest were 1-3 with wins over each other to create a tie. What if Cooper would have fallen on the down side of the tiebreaker and was eliminated. Would you still think the process was good or would you be preaching to let them all in!

AND you're okay with no win teams or no district win teams advancing and being rewarded a playoff spot? So it's okay that Boone and other no wins teams are advancing? Because you're changing your story is you say yes. If you say no, then the process isn't working.

In your words (since the process is working), please tell me why you think there is a process in place and what are the intentions of that process?

RC, it seems to me you continue to ignore what we've been saying about other sports. You for some reason keep saying there is no playoffs in other sports until

They play on the regionals. That is false and a lie. Until you realize that in bball and baseball etc that they actually have district tournaments AND unlike football

Those other sports allow even more tes to advance than football after district tournaments (2) while football if you lose in the playoffs you are out and don't advance.

Your lack of knowledge and understanding on how the other sports post season works is what keeps you from having a fair discussion about football. This surprises

Me because I thought you coached softball or something like that.

You see. To lay it out for you I will explain the difference. No gray areas at all this is point blank black and white.

1. In baseball, softball and basketball every single team gets to play in the post season.

2. In football not all the teams advance to play in the postseason.

Yet for some reason you think too many teams in football play in the post season but not too many in softball and baseball and basketball.

Now you tell us whose thought process is flawed.

Please explain why it's impossible to not let them all in. There are only a few teams that don't get in now. Why so hard to let them in?

Please tell everyone how to do it.

You say my lack of knowledge of other sports. Now that's really funny because most on here know I am the head coach of HHS softball team and my daughter is a sophomore who has been in the varsity high school Bball program since 7th grade. I know the other sports very well.

I'm saying we aren't talking about the other sports. We are talking about football. Answer the questions about football. We all know its completely different, so you can't compare it to other sports.

You guys do a great job of diverting the topic to other things when challenged. You're like magicians "hey, look over here!".

I've asked several questions pertaining to football and neither of you answer them.

1.Does football have process to eliminate weak teams and reward teams for their accomplishments in the regular season?

2. If your answer is yes and you say the process is fine, why does the process reward teams that have no wins or no district wins, or even just one district win.

Don't do any diversion, just answer the question.
