Texas A&M football players were asked who they would invite to a party, and quarterback Johnny Manziel picked quite a few high-profile stars.

 

The reigning Heisman Trophy winner picked actor Charlie Sheen, New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski and golfer Tiger Woods.

Does he know that Al Davis died? He seems to be talking his way into Raider Nation. The cupboard may too bare for the Raiders to make the trade but they'll be all over him after his first release.

I have no issue with his comments. I'd love to party with all three of those guys. What's wrong with that?

Another direction could be there are some things you just don't say even if they are true. The fact that he was brash enough to say it makes people scratch their heads.

Oh, I see now. Quite a few players were interviewed and asked who they would party with but Johnny Football's answers are an issue. Who was he supposed to say? Obama? George Bush?

Something tells me pre-4 iron to the SUV, Tiger Woods would be the guy to party with. Charlie Sheen if you got about 4 days to kill.

Manziel: "I don't believe in partying, but if my parents asked me to do so, I'd invite my pastor, my calculus tutor and the elderly woman down the street who takes care of stray cats."

 

The Aggies quarterback has said and done his share of knucklehead things, but this wasn't one of them. First of all, if one of his A&M teammates had given the same answer (and other Aggies were featured in the video), nobody would have said a peep. Or they would have laughed.

 

But since Manziel said what he said, it somehow becomes "news."

 

It was a silly scoreboard video. He's in college. He was having some fun with a fun question. That's it.

 

And anyway, I can't quibble with his choices of Sheen, Gronk and TW.
