Dixie fan section fiasco

Featured Replies

Tonight at the Dixie/Simon Kenton game I was seated at the top of the visitors side (Dixie fan section). The Dixie students were positioned in the far left-hand section and took up every row but the top 6 rows, there were two unoccupied rows and the top 4 were taken by Dixie parents. The entire student section was STANDING UP, like every student section does at ANY high school game. Well this did not sit well with some of the Dixie parents and a couple of dads started getting quite a bit "testy" with a couple of students telling them to sit down. Words kept getting exchanged and at one point one parent started yelling (very angrily) and even said he would have his son make this student sit down....WOW!!! In all honesty I thought it was going to come to blows.

As more students came up and started to take over the two remaining rows, Mr. Angry gave up and left the stands. One hold out stretched his legs over the row in front of him and wouldn't move them for anyone, however as more students arrived, he to left the stands. Those remaining started to stand and a few moved to other sections.

Here's my take........If you sit anywhere in the vicinity of the students section, especially behind them, be prepared to have your view obstructed by students standing and don't expect them to sit down.

I always chuckle before CCH basketball games when I see unknowing adults sit on the far side of the CCH gym right in the middle. "Hey, great seats." It doesn't take them long to move.

Nothing like discouraging team spirit.

I thought you was talking about the Dixie football players (wide receivers) fighting that I seen in the final minutes of the game on the sidelines. It was pretty crazy.

Not even close to the "nonsense" I witnessed!!!

The thing that got me mad was the Dixie students that ran around the field during the game with the Dixie flags taunting the SK student section considering what SK did for Dixie. SK dedicated the game and made the game a pink out for Dixie and their coach.

You should know there's goofs in every crowd!

LAWNBOY13, when I scouted for Beechwood we were scouting CovCath at Boone County and we were sitting on the CovCath side of the field

we were watching Pre-game when two young CovCath fans came up to me and said that in about 10 minutes the stands would be filled with

CovCath fans and we would probably not see the game if we were sitting. They politely said we would be better to move over with the parent's

if we wanted to see the game. We thanked them for their honesty and moved over. Believe me it was for the best. JD

I agree! It's refreshing to see kids get pumped up about their school. Too bad the adults could not see it that way.

This was definitely not the case last night, as these parents wanted the student section to sit down. :lol2: It just amazed me that they (the parents) simply thought all these kids were just going to take a seat the whole game.........the look on some of these kids faces was priceless.

........

This just in, parents are idiots too.

I hope the dad that threatened a kid with having his son deal with him, gets to meet that kid's father. What a clown.

Aren't you glad when you were hanging with Clyde and OB at the top of the stands at halftime of CCH / HHS you didn't have to deal with any idiots? Well....maybe just one. :lol2:

I was up there too, and the old guys weren't yelling at the kids to sit down. The kids were initially standing, and then halfway through the 1st, they stood up on the seats. When the out of control guy asked if they would step back down, a Dixie student replied, replied with profanity. From there, it became a shouting match. The older man was definitely way out of line, however, so was the Dixie student. As for the guy with his leg out over the seat in front of him, he sits like that at all the games. He has a bad leg and can't sit with it bent.
