All 10 players that have more TD's than him have either played 7 or 8 games so far this season, while Nacarius and the Purples have only played 6 games. If the Purples wouldn't have the rain out game he would be right at top 5 so far this year for all receivers.

 

Just trying to do my part for the voters to give him a legit shot of being Mr. Football. Especially if he can pull off the all time receiving leader for the commonwealth. It will be tough (still some running clock games) but it is still do-able.

He is a beast this year. His average of something like 142 yards a game is the most impressive to me especially knowing he hasn't played entire games all year.

What I learned about him last year that was most impressive was not his quickness or speed but his hands. He catches anything thrown his way. Should make an absolute beast as a slot receiver at the next level for WKU. He can catch a short 5 yard pass and break it for a TD anytime or he can lay out aand bring one in on a deep post pattern. He's fun to watch.

Not saying it's fair or that fant wouldn't be if he hadn't committed to WKU already but Quick was being recruited by tOSU, UK and UL hard core. When voters here about a kid having an awesome season that's being recruited by those teams vs a kid having a great season that's being recruited by WKU it doesn't carry that same hype with it. Fant is certainly a talented young man, I think Mr. football is still pretty wide open right now.

That could play a part in i. I was curious anyway and looked at Quicks numbers last year. He had less yards and only 5 receiving TD's all season and only receptions in the 30's I think.

 

This year has a lot of receivers putting up huge numbers. We all seen Fan'ts numbers already which crush what Quick did, but there are severalother receivers doing great also

 

Perkins (Wayne Co.) with over 850 yards

Shelton (Williamsburg) with over 600 yards

Estep (Pikeville) over 650 yards

Bouvier (Lex. Catholic) over 700 yards

all 4 of them also with an avg over 100 yards a game.

 

There is another with a big year you won't hear about but Fussinger for Cooper in just the last 2 games had 325 receiving yards and 21 receptions, he is also leading the state in receptions with 50.

 

 

No one is in Fan'ts league though and I think that includes Quick from last year. Fant is in a world all his own this season.

I understand the argument, but WKU is competing and beating UK in football. Which school should carry the most weight in regards to commitments? Just saying.

He had a 99 yard KO return against McCallie. That tied the BGHS records for longest scoring play and longest KO return. This was extremely impressive considering McCallie is the fastest team we've played in years!

IMO, WKU got a steal in Fant.
