I haven't seen the kid from Madison Southern yet and I know he has quite the reputation. I have seen Charles Walker and if most believe the kid from Madison Southern is the best RB in the state I definitely need to see him. Walker is the best RB I have seen in person in quite some time.

 

You definitely need to see him. I have a friend in coaching in the Central Kentucky area who told me about him when he was an 8th grader/Freshman. Just a special talent. We don't get that type in Kentucky very often.

I didn't see it on the film. He looked just like a regular back.

The kid from West Jessamine is the real deal. I believe he may be as good as the Walker kid but maybe a slight step behind the Harris kid. The Castleman kid from Scott is very good as well and doesn't get the touches the other backs get.

I think Walker has more power at this point in their careers, but Harris is a BURNER. 4.4 speed, and he's only a sophomore.

 

Just to give you an idea of this kid's speed, in the 2013 State Track Meet, Ryan Timmons (a senior) won the AA 100 meter dash with a time of 11.06. Damian Harris (a freshman) came in second with a time of 11.17.

 

For me, it's more of a rarity to have a back with that type of speed (and size), whereas the big, bruising back is something that's more common.

I would say that Charles Walker of St. Xavier is probably (a somewhat close) second right now, and if I had to make another selection, it'd be him.

I think in the Eastern part of the state it would be Quinton Baker at Ashland son of former UK RB Al Baker.

I seen Harris in a basketball game last year (since he plays both football and basketball) and he's a brute. Just a SO at that. He's put on the weight this past offseason...

DeAndre Farris of Collins and Marcelius Logan are two names that would be on my honorable mention list. ESPN has them rated very close to one another, and Farris has accepted an offer from WKU.

How big is he? And I've already viewed the film posted in this thread; I don't see him being better than walker. He may be projected to be better than walker but at this point I believe walker is better than he is. Walker also does this against the best competition in ky and the vaunted GCL schools.

ESPN's page was last updated July 29, 2013 and lists him at 5'11, 190 lbs. I'd say he's put on a few more since the start of the season too if I were guessing.

I've seen Harris twice this year. If there is a better back then him, I need to see him. Regardless of the competition, Harris is that good. I saw on 247 sports, he was recently given a 5 star rating, that goes with rivals and espn as well. Id say he is 5'11-6'0, probabl210-215. He is solid as a rock. Yes his times are fast but his game speed is another gear.

The best Running Back in the state is Elijah Bell from Henry Clay. I've watched Damian Harris, Charles Walker, in person. All great players. And none anywhere near Elijah Bell. IMO......Damian may have the brightest future or best offer sheet. But that doesn't mean he's the best in high school.

And Elijah could each up 3 and 400 yard games if they so chose to do so. He gains his yards on 10-15 carries a game.
