PigSkin Junkie
Let's face it - Darren Sproles is one in a million. There are kids I see every week that have all the heart, smarts and desire to play football at the next level but genetics is not their friend. There is a kid at Lloyd who is as tenacious as can be....doubt he is 5'6". Probably would not start at a bigger school, but because he is at Lloyd, he plays and he leaves it all on the field. A pleasure to watch. Kyle Grant - watch him if you have the opportunity. Who are some other kids who play beyond their size?
ATLCat
Saw this posted elsewhere.... perfect example of what you are describing. On a side note...some of the poorest excuse for fundamental tackling I have ever witnessed in that video.. but the kid certainly plays with every ounce of heart he has. ATLCat
Nice....did he get to play anywhere after high school?? He is A Senior for Morgan County this year Belfry's Justin Johnson is an electric player who is 5'8 on a good day.. he has averaged a crazy 10.9 yards per carry for his career (215 carries for 2338 yards) and averages a TD per every 7.2 carries (30 career TD's). Those numbers would be even higher if he had not missed Half of Last Season with injury and another 3-4 games his Soph season.

Clyde
You can apply the logic to 90% of the NKY all-stars every season.
PigSkin Junkie
You can apply the logic to 90% of the NKY all-stars every season. Agreed. A friend used to say he would run for mayor of a small NKy town solely on the platform that there would be severe punishment for any man "mating with a woman under 5'8" tall" - we would all chuckle but it kinda wasn't funny if you know what I mean! I tried to always avoid filling my kids' heads with dreams of playing beyond JV because heart and smarts take you just so far. Eventually you will run into someone with heart and smarts who is 2X your size! Coach after coach would tell me they could play as long as they wanted, but it's simply not true. MJD, James Franklin, Trindon Holliday, Ray Rice, Welker, Steve Smith . . . . All are 5-9 or under. I would say size at the skill position in the NFL does not matter if you also have NFL speed and quickness.
