Sounds like Bw is lucky to be catching the Covington boys right now while they have some injuries. I am still leaning Covington's way but the injuries may give the Tigers a chance

 

Yes, Cov Cath has suffered some key injuries. But let's not forget that the Tigers also have injuries and have lost two key players - starting RB Mitch Thomas and starting LB/FB Jack Talley - who are both out for the season with knee injuries. Those injuries are a big factor in the running game challenges and adjustments for the Tigers, part of which is discussed in the article posted above.

What channel is this game to be televised on?

Why change from a friday? does Beechwood get some cash for moving to tv? Besides saying "we are on tv" whats the benefit in moving the game to thursday? thanks

 

Isn't that enough? It's a fun thing for Students, Fans and especially the players. Sounds like everyone is excited. It will be fun to have the Spartan Reunion.

 

Coaches felt it was important enough to not only move the game to Beechwood, but also play on Thursday.

 

The game is on Fox-Ohio.

I can't wait! I'm even DVRing The Big Bang Theory for this one, that never happens. Hope the Tigers can pull it out but the main thing is for these two teams to come out of the game with no more injuries!

And in what cache did you find this great Wisdom? It may be that Beechwood loses, but after seeing them play the last couple of weeks, they have the ability to not only keep this close, but to pull off a W. Regardless of the outcome, it will not be a "Beating"

 

Have you seen Beechwood play or do you just go by scores and ramblings of others on BGP that haven't seen them play? Their only real poor loss was to Dixie. A team that has continued to suprise everyone since their loss to CCH.

 

That said, I would have rather had CCH play the birds close. Instead, the Varsity didn't play 4 quaters of hard-faught football and they now have something to proove. So if by "Wrong Time" you mean that, then I have to agree.

CCH 37 Beechies 14

I wish I could be more confident in this one.

Highlands did just about anything they wanted in the passing game against CCH. Most of that had to do with the fact that Cov Cath couldn't put a sustained rush on and Highlands did a great job of rolling the pocket. Highlands really uses the pass to set up the run.

Whether Beechwood will do the same, I don't know. If they line up and run, I like CCH's chances. If they line up and pass, CCH will need to do a much better job of pressuring the QB.

Offensively, Cov Cath MUST start sustaining some TD ending drives. This is also the game I can see the XP's being critical- so CCH needs to clean that up in a hurry.

If CCH wins it will be in the 21 to ? range. I can't see them scoring more than that- though I would love to be wrong.

I am not taking a shot at anyone, but if CCH scores 37 on Beechwood it will be very embarrassing. With all the offensive injuries there, 37 would be a huge step backwards for the Tiger defense. Beechwood held a 5A offense averaging 50+ points a game to 14 points for 3 quarters, and 28 overall, just two weeks ago.

I don't think the pass rush was nearly as bad as you say it was. Cov Cath did get good pressure on Houlistan. Houlistan just did a very good job of avoiding sacks and finding receivers while on the run. I hope Beechwood and Fieger can execute just 2/3rds as well. It won't be easy.

It is game day. Anyone have any more thoughts or predictions on this one?
