Re: Bowling Green High School Football Broadcast

Bowling Green High School is pleased to announce that Purples Football will join with PurplesNation.com | to bring radio broadcast streaming online for the 2013 and 2014 seasons. The website is active and the first live broadcast will be streamed online Friday, September 27, as Bowling Green hosts Barren County for Homecoming 2013. PurplesNation.com will have current information about Purples Football as well as past events that have been broadcast.

Bowling Green head coach Kevin Wallace had this to say about the announcement. “Our program is excited to and have our games streamed live at PurplesNation.com. It gives our fans an ability to access Purples Football from various spots in the world. It might be a student in the stands listening on their smart phone or a grandparent on the west coast sitting in front of their computer. Anyone will be able to listen to a clear broadcast of Purples Football.”

Joe Brunk, who has spent the past two years as the play-by-play announcer for Purples Football will be returning to the microphone to broadcast the games at PurplesNation.com

No radio station covers the Purples? If not, why?

No radio station covers the Purples? If not, why?

They had been on the radio for years upon years but as I understand it they and their previous provider could not come to an agreement. There are three AM stations here and BG has at one time or another been on each. One was the one that had been covering them, one already covered another team, and one covers all the teams (in addition to having previously covered the Purples and that ended on a sour note). None of the FM stations really want in on it and most of them actually have a tie in one way or another to the three AM stations. So basically it just sort of happened that they ended up with nothing.

BG football is too good not to have coverage. I was a little surprised it took this long to work something out, but I knew they'd get something done. I think they've made a very good choice with the way they've done it as well.

Wonder if this could lead to live video streaming?

Really nice website!

I love watching games using sites that stream them.

IHIGH is very good at times.

Hopefully B.G. will be streaming video soon.
