According to PtownDude's stats Elijah Sindelar is 83-132 for 1,224 yards 18 TDs 2 INTs. His rushing numbers are 24-155 3 TDs. he has thrown TD passes to 7 different receivers, and is ranked #9 nationally in the Class of 2015. I have not got to see Drew Barker play in person, but from what I have seen on film, Barker is a great talent and is very fleet afoot. What I want to know is, does he have to run as much as he does(no other RB option)? Are his mechanics elite? Anything would be great to hear. I am not trying to say Sindelar is better, I am simply wanting to find out, and start a discussion.

Even as one of Drew's biggest supporters I can tell you Drew is not "fleet afoot." He is a strong runner and throws a mean straight arm but he is not fast.

He runs because it works.

His mechanics are top-notch. Coach Watson from UL once said Drew had the best release of any QB he's seen in a long time.

Drew's ability to read defenses and make adjustments is what seems to set him apart. He's been a student of Coach Delph (Conner QB coach) since he was an 8th grader. I think I read a quote from either Coach Delph or Coach Trosper that Drew changes about half of the plays called at the LOS.

I have no clue which QB is better as I've never seen the Sindelar kid but he sounds like another stud QB. Plus it sounds like UK is in the lead for him.

Barker is a top recruit and there is a lot of info and video about him online. As to his running, he runs because that is part of Conner's offense. They run the read option a lot. He is bigger and stronger than most defenders he goes against. His speed is pretty good but he isn't blazing fast. The QB running the ball through the read option is why he gets the rushing yards he does. He will not be a running QB in college. He will be your traditional drop back passer.

I would have to say Barker right now. Sindelar still has a couple years until college so who knows by then. But I've seen both play, and at this point Barker impresses me more. Again, not a knock on Sindelar; Barker's just really good. Also, what is he ranked #9 nationally in/as? Because on 247sports' class of 2015 rankings, Sindelar is a 3* right now with a rating of an 85.

I agree with what you said about Drew's running. He isn't fleet of foot, he reminds me a lot like Durham from CC last year. Not the speedster that some would think but big and strong and just tough to bring down. He runs well and is just so tough to tackle sometimes.

Drew has such a great fast release which is what makes him special. That I think is his biggest asset, his release point and his quick release which makes it very difficult to defend. He has great zip on his ball and is pretty darn accurate.

Head to head thus far Guhy has been very dominant with Sindelar granted Guhy has played on the better teams and the presure from Mayfield's defense made an impact. Thus far this year Guhy and Sindelar have similar numbers though Guhy's have been against a much tougher schedule. With all that said it leads me to conclude that Sindelar is younger and getting better all the time and his numbers for his age are impressive but the attention Sindelar is getting is much more about his potential rather than what he is doing right now. He has the physical and mental tools to become great at the next level, somthing Guhy does not possess. I have not ever watched Barker so I can't say much on him but Sindelar should develop into a stud at the next level (he is already an elite high school QB) but for now he is still learning and getting better

You know he has the mental tools.

Guhy has a good of mental tools as any I have watched, that was a typo in my posts. I think Sindelar has them as well based on the way he runs the offense but that is the part of his game that is still developing even more so than his physical tools which are elite for someone his age. Wow, from reading my own posts I would conclude I am a expert and colleges are missing out on my scouting talents. I really have no idea, just the observations of a high school junky so who knows I maybe in left field

Guhy is a great hugh school talent, but he is not on Barker or Sindelar's talent on the next level. I hope to see a great battle between Sindelar and Guhy November 1st. Everyone is welcome to come down early that day and we can tailgate or meet at Pagliais for some great pizza!
