Come on Deuce, both of these teams would blast your Cards and you know it. This was a fantastic football game by 2 great teams.

"Entire offseason to prepare" is one of the more asinine things people say. Doesn't that mean A&M had a full offseason to prepare for the Alabama defense? I know my numbers are not fully accurate, but they showed a stat recently of the least amount of TDs given up college defenses the past 3 years. Bama lead the way with like 62 TDs. The closest to them was over 90 TDs.

 

With that said this year's version lost a TON of talent to the NFL and is young with no shutdown corner. Though Manziel should still be the front runner for the Heisman. Dude is special.

You are right... The A&M coaches had equal time to prepare. But I think most people would say that preparation time typically favors the team with the better coaching staff. Either A&M's offensive coaching staff is just as good or better than Alabama's defensive coaching staff, or Manziel is the greatest college QB in the history of the game, and no one can stop him.

 

Does any reasonable person really believe that giving up 42 points represents an acceptable defensive performance?

This one was certainly a good one to watch, Manziel as much as I hate to say it is "that good", he made play after play all day. Bama held it together after A&M jumped out to that quick 2td lead, didn't panic and just kept steady, taking over the lead and the game due to imo Saban's coaching, Yeldon's running and the leadership of A.J. McCarron. I am not an all time Bama fan but I do love college football and I love watching Bama play.

What I cannot understand is when talk of the Heisman comes up that while his name may be mentioned, that A.J. McCaron's doesn't come up first mention every time. No, McCarron is not "flashy", doesn't draw attention to himself taunting or chest thumping or any of that "all about me junk", what he does is goes out and Wins. McCarron wins to the tune of back/back SEC & national championships. Without him, Bama doesn't win those big games including the one yesterday. He is a coach on the field, obviously a team leader. Should his passing stats not be as good as some others that is only bc that with Bama's rushing attack and style of play they don't throw the dang ball all over the yard every game. McCarron also represents himself with class All the time On and Off the field. Simply said he is a winner, will be a winner in life/real world after college.

With all those NCs and his girlfriend it wouldn't be fair to give him the Heisman also.

It is as long as your team scores 43 :thumb: of course Saban doesn't think so and said as much after the game.

 

A&M ended last season playing the best of any team in the nation by many accounts.

 

Manziel played like Houdini in that game and made several almost miracle escapes...I have got to give him more credit than faulting Alabama's D. JMO

I did not watch this one as I had no interest in it.

I wonder if Tex a&m moves up in the rankings after this loss. After all it was a close loss to Bama.

 

Really, you attend more high school football games than anybody else that I know, beg for copies of season preview newspapers from all over the area, comment on most college football threads, and start numerous threads about the Arena League, but you have no interest in a matchup of two top 6 ranked teams. :ohbrother:
