Simply being "3-0" means nothing, how did they win, who did they play, that is what is needed. Their three opponents are 2-7 combined. That doesn't scream, "look what I have done".

Come on, BGC....you and I both know LexCath is better than Boyle on paper. That's why all I say is we'll see what happens Oct. 4th. We all know that we all believe LexCath is better than Boyle. Just because we would both rank Boyle higher than LexCath today doesn't mean that we both don't know that LexCath is the favorite in Round 1.

Lex Cath cannot play defense. They gave up 28 Lafayette and X & BG called the dogs off when they reached the high

40's. I think your right Cath may be the fav. But they can't run the ball like Boyle and they can't stop anyone. Let us see what they do with Station this week.

For the record X did not call off the dogs. It was a 7 point game late in the 3rd. BG - yeah. Hence why the LexCath fans universally called the BG/X game in favor of BG.

 

Two of Lafayette's scores were KO returns. Not good at all. And LexCath fumbled away scores in the red zone. But that is a problem on offense - finishing the score. So that too is a worry.

 

Bryan Station will present another defensive challenge. They have lots of offensive firepower.

Underdogs usually come in with a little more fight to them. I am lobbying for that underdog slot!

 

Given that Boyle was up at half in both games (by 16 in the Region) the game will likely be another tooth and nail scrap.

I like Boyle but we need to see more to really pass judgment on this team and how high they should be ranked. Anderson CO. is certainly a quality opponent. The proof is in the pudding. There is nothing bad about being ranked 5th at this point in the season.
