Agree or Disagree?

Central deserves to stay #1.

Their lone loss was to 6A Manual in a close game where they played without their starting backfield due to a clerical error.

They have since defeated 6A Lafeyette and 6A Eastern, who was a Semi-Finalist last season, neither team would be considered a weak opponent.

Think South Warren deserves the benefit of a doubt over a 2 loss Tilghman.

Mason County definitely should be in ahead of a Morgan County team who has done nothing to impress thusfar. Strong chance Mason County goes undefeated, although that says more about their weak schedule than anything, but at least they don't have a loss to 1A Paintsville on their resume.

Morgan County? They struggled to beat Estill and lost to 1A Paintsville. I don't think they are a bad team, but I can't see them ahead of Trigg, Elizabethtown or Corbin, among others, right now. What have they done?

I have to agree. Corbin is flying under the radar right now, which is ok, they will have some opportunities to prove themselves coming up. Turnovers absolutely killed them last year as they were -35 for the season, so I believe a lot of people are sleeping on them due to their 5-6 record last season.

I am very hesitant with Corbin right now to pass any judgement. Corbin hasn't had a quality win since moving to 3A and have yet to play a good team this year.

My suspicion is they are one of those 5-6 teams deserving of that #10 spot and right on par with Bell County this year, but a step or two behind Wayne County... but until they actually play with someone with a pulse I am just going to wait on them.

I think a lot of people are waiting to see where Corbin is in relation to Bell County and Wayne County. Some might be thinking that a third place team in a district can't be a top 10 team (which is silly, but could be thought by some). How Corbin stacks up in district play will tell us much more about them.

I like Belfry at #1, but I'd move Bourbon County to #3. Also agree that Mason County should be higher than Morgan. But a pretty good list overall.

Corbin will have their chances to make their case in the district games, although they do have to play Bell & Wayne Co. both on the road.

Corbin's depth should really help as the season progresses. They only have 3 kids who are starting on both offense and defense, with none of the interior linemen starting on both sides.

There will be a couple of matchups coming in a few weeks to see where some of these teams stand. Bell and Wayne play on Sep 27th and then Corbin and Wayne play the following week. That should let us know where all 3 teams stand.

I think South Warren deserves to be higher not sure here to put them though. They have wins against 4A and 5A opponents and have not been scored on yet. Also their stats on defense are -108 rushing yards given up and only 30 yards total given up for the season. If they handle Elizabethtown this week then they defiantly should move up. Central and Belfry are still No 1 and 2 in the state till someone knocks them off. Wayne from what I understand is very good this year. Paducah Tilghman has 2 losses now and one to Mayfield yes I know Mayfield is a strong team but it is still 2 losses especially when other teams have better records and Stats. The next few weeks will be interesting.

Correction: Morgan County was a misprint, after checking the rankings, Mason County should be number 9. Sorry for the error.

Central beat Eastern 14-7.

CAL, ranked midway through the 2A poll, beat Eastern 36-13

Central beat Manual 29-7 last year and lost by 10 to them this year.

Central is still good, but not the dominant good they have been in the past.

And South Warren is too low. They should be 3 or 4

Makes more sense. Thanks for the clarification! :thumb:
