September 9, 201313 yr Hue Jackson sealed his fate by pushing for the Carson Palmer deal. Raiders are still reeling from that awful decision. I agree was a bad decision with what they gave up for Carson. However he also showed he can really coach. The Raiders offense sucked before he got there as the OC and he made them into a pretty decent offense. Then his one year as head coach they were one game away from the playoffs, and there was not much talent there and Mcfadden missed half of the season.
September 9, 201313 yr If you know anything about Marty you know that he is a winner. Everywhere he's been he has won, and in the post season. Marvin has never won. You have always told me the ultimate goal that you want to see is the Super Bowl correct or at least AFC Championship appearance at first. Well Marty S has been a proven winner in the regular season, and also has been proven to flame out in the playoffs with top teams. So just doesn't seem to fit the criteria that you have personally said. Because if the Bengals make the AFC Championship one year but then never can make the next step like he never does, then we still wouldn't be happy. So just doesn't fit what you have been preaching. So to fit what you been preaching they need a proven Super Bowl winning coach. I am just giving you crap because he goes against what you have been preaching since he is known to underachieve once in the playoffs lol. I would love Marty S as a coach because I agree he is a very good coach and definitely knows how to manage a game unlike Marvin.

First, he'll turn 70 this month. For the most part, you haven't seen very many 70 year olds have success coaching an NFL team with the hours, pace, and schedule that they are required to keep. Second he hasn't coached in the NFL since 2006. A lot has changed in the last 7 years, and Marty's style of play doesn't seem to fit to well in the current NFL style. Of all the older, more well know names out there (Cowher, Billick, Shottenheimer, Holmgrem to name a few), the only one that I think could have success is John Gruden. I think the trend toward young, first time guys, has brought some innovation and fresh ideas into the league. And if you still want an old, established winning coach, no coach has ever won a Super Bowl with two different teams, and only 5 have ever led their new team to the Super Bowl. Not very good odds.
