West coast offense main thing on passing is to have different depth of recievers, short, med and deep and check downs are a huge part of it, tell me how many times you actually see Dalton check down his recievers? Usually, especially on deep routes he just tosses the ball up, mostly into double coverage, and hopes his receiver comes down with it. Did you see how long he held onto the ball today? He may be making 3 step drops but you can't hold on to the ball for 6 seconds and expect to be a good QB.

 

He is horrible and doesn't look off his primary reciever on deep balls. A perfect example was one he underthrew AJ on a med-deep crossing route as Sanu blew right by his guy on a streak down the sideline. And what did Andy do on that play? he threw into double coverage because he didn't do a checkdown and underthrew AJ.

I will add this. If this is the most talented Bengals team since the 80's, well that just shows how horrible the Bengals are.

You just made my point man. I am glad you know what a west coasts offense is and how it is suppose to come out quick and on time. Which is why we don't see him take many deep drops because it is designed to come out quick. Then when it doesn't like with Andy holding onto it today it's creates the defense now having pressure in his face since he didn't take a deep drop and held onto it.

 

As for overrated as you say with your orange glasses comments I can't take what you say serious because of your serious negative bias that gets in your way of a true evaluation of this team since all the losing through the years has created a bias for the negative. Agreed and the same can be said about a few teams who had big expectations from most people who are also 2 and 2. San Francisco green bay Houston and Atlanta. I am pretty sure those teams are 2 and 2 at least off the top of my head. Good teams can overcome these starts though just like I am sure those teams will. It will depend on Dalton if the Bengals can.

You see, one day you will understand you can't judge how a person will play by compparing how tall he is to anyone else. Professinal sports don't work that way. It's silly to do and shows lack of knowledge about tthe parrticular subject at hand.

What it does show....again....is that no matter what is said by someone else, as long as it is a positive, you will run with it as being fact. I heard the comparison;s when Dalton was being drafted yet I didn't take it as fact, as Marvin used to say, "I see bettter than I hear"

That secondary still didn't give up a 300 yard game for what the 18th in a row and had three defensive backs out including twosstarters. Minnesota who has a great d line to gave up 300 plus in the air to them. So if the Bengals secondary with backups holds them to less and offense sucking and you think their horrible. My type hmmm? So I need to admit that your opinion which all it is is an opinion is right because what? You say the 2005 team is more talented and that's an opinion. I say 2013 is as do most people which I know those are just opinions too. Your opinion about talent can't be proven for 2005. Put it this way put 2005 Palmer on this team and this team has an even better chance than the 2005 team to make a run. Imagine that Palmer with green there tight ends and Bernard. Quarterback play makes a big difference. This year's team has more talent but quarterback may hold them back. We have different opinions and so best to agree to disagree.
