Only one of these I've seen is Mason County and they don't look quite like a top ten team yet. Maybe a different story when they get Nelson back at full strength.

Looks good. This week is interesting with Monroe playing Warren East. It will give us a little insight to how good South may be and also if Monroe beats east it might give an insight to how good Wayne really is. Looks like there is potential for the ranking to shake up a little bit next week.

I don't know yet where they belong, but I would definitely have to include Garrard County in the top 10. Saw them play on Friday and was very impressed. That is a well-coached ball club with good talent and size. By the end of the season, they will be a tough playoff opponent for someone.

I think that's the opinion around Lancaster. This team should be better in Week 10 than they are now. The game against Glasgow showed they can play, but they just didn't have the experience to finish the job.

 

The schedule stays tough with Wayne County this week and chief rival Lincoln County the next week so we'll have to wait and see. Last year's team started slow but win five of their last seven. It could play out similarly this year.

Top 4 IMO is dead on! I would love to see Wayne move up but there just isn't enough on their schedule to allow them to pass Belfy or Central. If PT wins this week they might have to leap frog Wayne and maybe Belfry.

Even though they have the name recognition, I have a hard time believing Belfry is the 2nd best 3A team in Kentucky right now. They have a ton of skill players with experience, but their line play is a ways away from being where they need to be and they are just not a great team defensively, yet. They are playing a lot of sophomores and even freshmen who are still wet behind the ears. My gut tells me Wayne and probably Tilghman are better right now.

Could be that your right about the players, but that old guy on the sidelines seems to coach em up pretty good every year. I'll take Belfry heads up against about anyone in 3A come November and not have a second thought about it.

Coach has a knack for seeing down the road and working on the little things now that will pay dividends in the playoffs. I know it is cliche and folks laugh at his "work in progress" and "we just want to get a little better each day" talk but that is just it, it isn't just talk. He lives it and that type of work ethic is something that the kids really buy into. They never feel like they have to fix everything overnight, they just know that they have to work hard and when they walk off the field every day they need to be a little better than they were yesterday.

 

His brand of football may not be too exciting for some, but it is tailor made for the blue collar type of kids we have and he is a phenomenal role model to boot. I would not trade him for any other coach around.
